Visiting Cawdor Castle
Cawdor Castle is a magnificent example of early Scottish Baronial architecture.
The current building dates back to around 1454 when, believe it or not, the site was chosen by a donkey laden with gold, who lay down to rest on the ground.
It is featured in William Shakespeare's play Macbeth, has outstanding gardens and is said to be haunted by three ghosts including the restless spirit of King Duncan himself.
