Tate Hill Beach
Although smaller than neighbouring Whitby, the soft sands of Tate Hill Beach is still the perfect little get away from crowded coastlines.
If you want to secure an afternoon of peaceful uninterrupted fishing, or take a leisurely stroll in the evening, this hidden pleasure is the place to be. You can choose to walk up the 199 stairs that lead to Whitby Abbey, or take in the many independent shops selling local produce in the surrounding streets. A café/restaurant can be easily found nearby and dogs are welcome, except for on the south side end of the beach. If you are driving, you’ll have to walk a little form the car park because none are located in the immediate area.
