Self-guided Walk from Craster to Low Newton
This rambling 6-mile walk is a fantastic way to explore the coasts and countryside of this gorgeous corner of Northumberland.
Start in Craster, a pretty village perhaps best-known for its traditional oak-smoked kippers, and make your way north along the coast to the ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle, a National Trust treasure. Continue north along the beach, past World War II bunkers and through the trickling Embleton Burn, towards the harbour at Newton Haven (look out for sunbathing seals). Head up from the beach to Low Newton before heading back to Craster along a path behind the sand dunes.
