Armadale Castle

Armadale Castle was once the home of the MacDonalds of Skye. It was originally established around 1790 but in 1815 it was enlarged and restyled as a castle. It is now largely a ruin but the surrounding woodlands and gardens have been kept up and are thought to be some of the best in Scotland. There are wonderful views over the Sound of Sleat and the ‘Museum of the Isles’ can be found nearby.
