Strangford Lough is Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, well known for its rare wildlife and seemingly endless walking paths and trails.
It is recognised as the largest sea Lough in the British Isles, and the woodlands, streams and farmland are some of the most iconic in the whole of Northern Ireland. Families will find plenty of friendly cottages and B&B’s for short stays and dogs are always welcome too. A wide variety of family orientated pubs and restaurants can be found within walking distance of each other and if you are driving, car parks are easily located. You can also use the local ferry service which travels between Strangford and Portaferry every day.
