Winter Camping

Join The Camping and Caravanning Club for some festive cheer and pitch up on a campsite to celebrate Christmas and welcome in the New Year!

The Club has seen a 28 per cent rise in the number of advance bookings for the festive season, compared to this time last year.

Thirty Club Sites are open during the Christmas period and they are: Bellingham Blackmore, Boroughbridge, Braithwaite Fold, Canterbury, Chertsey, Conkers, Delamere Forest, Derwentwater, Devizes, Eskdale, Hertford, Keswick, Kingsbury Water Park, Leek, Loch Ness Shores, Moffat, Moreton, Oswestry, Oxford, Polstead, Ravenglass, Scone, Tarland, Tavistock, Teversal, Troutbeck, Winchcombe and Windermere.

Additionally, five Camping in the Forest Sites are also available: Beddgelert, Christchurch, Glenmore, Postern Hill and Setthorns.

And for those that do decide to camp, the Club will be offering Christmas gifts in the shape of complimentary mince pies and mulled wine on most of its sites.

There’s plenty more to experience; whether holidaymakers decide to stay on a Club Site or Camping in the Forest Site this winter.

Many Club Sites have organised festive events which all campers, who are staying on site, can enjoy.

For more activity and event inspiration, visit the Club’s dedicated ‘What’s On’ online tool for a full list of organised holiday options:

In addition, the Forestry Commission has a number of exciting activities planned, many of which are directly accessible from our campsites. More information can be found online:

Bob Hill, the Club’s Sites Director, said: “Camping during the Christmas period is magical – there’s a real sense of community on all of our campsites.

“And the recent statistics show that it’s clearly a popular time of the year, despite preconceptions. We hope to encourage more people to enjoy a holiday with the Club this December!”
