The Camping and Caravanning Club has partnered with leading technology provider, Garmin to offer its members an exclusive ‘Club Navigation’ service – the dēzl™ 560LMT Camper Deluxe.

The Satellite Navigation device is specifically designed for motorhome and caravan users and comes preloaded with Camping and Caravanning Club Site locations plus over 15,000 camping points of interest.

Lifetime map and traffic updates are also included in the Club Navigation service package allowing holidaymakers to update their maps and key points of interest up to four times a year at no extra cost.

The device has three navigation modes; motorhome, caravan and car and has three mounting options that allows campers and caravanners to use it in a selection of vehicles.

Additionally, it also offers motorhome/caravan friendly routing with avoidance alerts. Campers simply need to set up their vehicle profile to allow the sat-nav to provide accurate route guidance around low bridges, narrow streets and restricted areas. Other features include exit services information and full European map coverage.

The sat-nav will be available to purchase from September, 2012 at a retail price of £349.99 with Camping and Caravanning Club members being offered £50 cash back for a limited time, meaning the cost of the unit to members will be less than £300.

The Club’s Membership Services Director, Paul Jones, is excited by the product and he said: “As technology improves and becomes more accessible, the demand for accurate information - particularly for holidaymakers enjoying their leisure time - is high.

“The new device has been designed with caravan and motorhome users in mind; it also has a large five inch screen and extra loud speaker to make it easier to see and hear in larger vehicles.

“Our new Club Navigation Service will allow holidaymakers to relax in the knowledge that all of their destination information is easily accessible and will take the worry out of travelling in larger camping units.

“We’re delighted to be able to work with Garmin to offer such an exciting product and we hope our members take advantage of this fantastic service.”

Garmin’s Product Manager, Mark Timms thinks there are real benefits to having a specialised sat nav and he added: “The dēzl 560LMT Camper Deluxe is designed to make navigating while driving a motorhome or towing a caravan a stress-free experience.

“With Lifetime maps updates, including the latest points of interest, you’ll always get accurate directions to your campsite - even if road layouts have changed or new developments have been built.

“The whole idea is to make reaching your destination as relaxing and enjoyable as possible.”
