The Camping and Caravanning Club was awarded the title Best Contact Centre Under 50 Seats in Europe at the prestigious European Call Centre Awards at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole on the 3 October.

The Club won following stiff competition from a record number of entries from organisations across Europe. The Awards ceremony was hosted by Iranian comedian Omid Djalili, on behalf of Call Centre Focus magazine.

The Club’s Contact Centre demonstrated to a panel of judges, including journalists and independent consultants, that it provides a great working environment, in a stylish and functional building – giving excellent working conditions. It showed good, diverse recruitment practices, meeting the needs of its staff and including well planned induction and training practices.

The award also recognises that both staff and customers using the Contact Centre are happy with the service it provides, and that appropriate technology is being used to ensure the highest level of satisfaction is achieved. The Club also proved that its innovative way of home working has had a positive effect  - increasing business without the limitations of a building.

David Welsford, the Club’s Director General said: “This is a fantastic achievement for The Camping and Caravanning Club. With 400,000 Club members, it is vital to be imaginative and professional whenever we communicate, especially on the telephone.

"We have invested heavily in our staff and our facilities in Coventry and across the country, and will continue to do so. As the Friendly Club we are always striving to achieve the best in everything we do – and it is great to have this recognised by an independent body.”
