Camping Club Youth Rallies
If your kids have joined – or are thinking of joining – CCY, chances are it’s because they love camping. Well, so do we! And the good news is that there are events throughout the year where kids can camp, take part in competitions and challenges and meet friends new and old.
Each Region or DA will organise numerous events, some that are only for CCY and some for everyone, with a dedicated youth area. You can find out what events are happening near you in the Out & About section of the Club magazine (the orange pages).
National Youth Rally
Every year, young people from all over the country get together to celebrate the joys of camping at the National Youth Rally. It’s hosted by a different Region each year, and there’s always lots going on!
The 2019 rally was hosted by Eastern Region and great fun was had by all. From an inflatable assault course to a mobile petting zoo, there was plenty of entertainment. And, of course, the usual evening discos on Friday and Saturday meant everyone could strut their stuff.
The Austin Trophy provided entertainment for all on the Sunday, with competitions such as the novelty relay race (hopping, three-legged and backwards running) and the gluttons' race (bob for apples and pick up a sweet from a bowl of flour with your teeth), amongst many more!
The 2020 Youth Rally will be hosted by Cambrian & Wyvern Region from 3-5 July. Don’t miss out – let your Youth Leader know your kids would like to join in all the fun and games! This year's theme is Jungle so pack your hiking boots and your bug spray and head off to the Three Counties Showground in Malvern. If they’re not already members, there’s plenty of time to join, so what are you waiting for?
International Youth Rally
To be able to attend the International Youth Rally, your kids will need to have passed their National Youth Test. There's plenty of time, so get them signed up today and they'll be trotting off on their next big adventure before you know it!
The next international youth rally takes place on 9-13 April in Coimbra, Portugal. As well as the opportunity to meet other young campers from around Europe, there'll be trips to take in local sights and places of interest. If your child would like to attend, just let your Youth Leader know.
