The sun came out. The crowds gathered. And the tension rose. Saturday afternoon at the National Feast of Lanterns (NFOL) at Arley Hall in Cheshire, and the stage was set in the main arena for the final showdown of the best campsite cooks in the country.
Six brave and game souls, who had won their District Association/Special Interest Section Regional heats earlier in the year, took their places behind their Cadac barbecues. Their task was to create a campsite meal of champions to wow the judges and the crowd. Their over-riding aim was to be crowned Campsite Cook of the Year 2018 and return home with the coveted trophy and an impressive Cadac Citi Chef patio barbecue.
