Two new eye-catching high-top conversions of the VW Crafter at the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show reaffirm its 2017 Van of the Year status with two converters choosing to launch new models on this base vehicle here at the show.
The first all-new conversion is the Hopton from
Hillside Leisure. With a price tag of just under £56K, this well-equipped van features diesel heating and hot water. The kitchen area includes a duel-fuel hob with hotplate and a combined oven and grill.
The flexible seating area includes two single sofas which double up as single beds and the addition of slide out supports means a central cushion can be added to create a useful wrap-around lounge. The washroom, situated opposite the kitchen area, is decently proportioned.
A second all-new conversion from IH Motorhomes, the 680RD, is on a highly specified VW Crafter. It features a rear wrap-around seating area with boot space underneath. The large kitchen area is kitted out with a full fridge/freezer, separate oven and grill and a dual-fuel hob. And, as you would expect from IH, this unit has well-crafted cabinet work throughout. Quality half leather upholstry and trim, featuring the IH signature logo, give this camper a luxurious feel and a price tag to match. It will set you back £65K.
Both units can be seen at the show until Sunday.
