NEC SHOW SPECIAL:
CATHARGO RE-LAUNCH ITS MALIBU BRAND
German luxury motorhome manufacturer Carthago has re-launched its entry level brand Malibu this week.
With prices starting at £61,000 and reaching to £73,000 for the top-of-the-range Malibu I 460, the specification and build quality belies its ‘entry-level’ tag.
There are five layouts in the range, each coming in a coachbuilt or A-class version, giving ten models in total.
The motorhomes reflect many of Carthago’s features, including an internal control to allow you to drain the water tank without needing to reach underneath the motorhome to find the tap.
The deep floor contains all the services and significant insulation along with plenty of under-floor storage space, some of which can be accessed from the outside.
The I 440 and T 440 models each feature a queen-sized island bed with a washroom that’s split in two, with the shower cubicle on one side and the toilet compartment on the other. Cleverly-designed doorways give extra room around the end of the bed at night.
The underbed rear garage is also well thought out, with slots to take bike wheels. The end of the bed can be raised to allow bikes to be loaded and then lowered again when their wheels are held in the floor slots.
You can see several of the new Malibu models at the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show 2018 in Birmingham until 25 February.
