Get outside for National Map Reading Week
Trusted mapping brand Ordnance Survey is encouraging people to brush up on their map reading skills as part of its second ever National Map Reading Week (NMRW) this week.
As part of the week, which runs from 16 to 22 October, Ordnance Survey will be offering a host of free map reading resources on its website to cater for every level from beginner to advanced.
There’s videos, a map reading quiz and practical information to help you become a better and safer map reader – there is also details of local map reading events and navigation training courses around the country.
Nick Giles, Managing Director of Ordnance Survey Leisure, said: “NMRW provides the chance to polish up on map reading skills, helping to make the outdoors enjoyable, accessible and above all safe. It would be great to see families learning this important skill together and sharing their experiences with us.
“We all get lost occasionally, what we want is to make sure people use maps to their full potential and find new exciting adventures.”
You can get involved online by using the hashtag #NationalMapReadingWeek.
