Take part in Weather Photographer competition
The Royal Meteorological Society is calling on photographers of all ages and abilities to enter its annual Weather Photographer of the Year 2020 and Young Weather Photographer of the Year 2020 competitions.
This year’s competition is particularly special as the Society celebrates its 170th anniversary. It’s open to professional and amateur photographers, regardless of their experience and whether they use the latest photographic equipment or a simple smartphone. Entries should be submitted by 6 July.
Campers and caravanners get to see the weather close up more than most, and experience it in all its many varied and glorious forms, which so often lend themselves to photography. Weather photos can be taken inside a tent with the door cracked open, through a caravan window or rooflight, or from the comfort of an onsite pitch with a scenic view.
Entrants may submit photos taken in previous years, so be sure to check through your image library from recent getaways. A panel of judges, including meteorologists, photographers and photo editors will look for images that combine photographic skill with meteorological observation. The competition is free to enter, and shortlisted entries will be put to a vote to discover the public’s favourite.
