The Club has thrown its weight behind Club President Julia Bradbury’s Litter Heroes campaign to encourage campers and other fans of the outdoors to take part in cleaning up the UK.
The initiative, which supports Keep Britain Tidy, launched last year as a follow up to the Great British Spring Clean.
Members can get involved by ordering their canvas Litter Heroes bag online at The Outdoor Guide, which is an online portal promoting all things walking and the outdoors fronted by Julia.
To receive a Litter Heroes bag, Club members need only sign up and pay £2.75 postage and packaging for the stylish and reusable bag, which is a great alternative to a plastic bin liner and carries the brands of those companies supporting the effort.
Other big names supporting the campaign include Countryfile magazine, and a number of camping brands including Costwold Outdoor, Outwell, Easy Camp and Robens.
Allison Ogden–Newton, CEO of Keep Britain Tidy, said: “Any litter dropped in a place of natural beauty is a problem – it shines like a beacon as something unnatural, and begs the question ‘Who is going to pick it up?’ I hope this initiative, fronted by the brilliant Julia Bradbury who has shown so much support to Keep Britain Tidy and our campaigns, is a step towards solving the littering issue by raising awareness and coupling it with people’s enthusiasm for the natural environment.”
Julia Bradbury says: “It is up to us all to make a change in our lives, and by keeping our footpaths clean and litter free everyone can do their bit without having to make big changes.”
