The Club buys two new sites
The Club has expanded the number of campsites it owns in the Lake District to eight after securing the purchase of two new sites within the national park.
The two sites – Scotgate and Braithwaite Bridges – lie between Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite Lake near the popular town of Keswick and were purchased by the Club from Scotgate Holiday Park.
When combined the two campsites total almost 18 acres and cater for all forms of camping with 250 camping pitches, 65 hardstandings, 21 caravan holiday homes, 13 lodges and a 1.8-acre rally field. The sites have been owned and managed by local family the Stuarts for 65 years, spanning three generations.
The Club’s Sites Director, Bob Hill, said: “We’re delighted the Stuart family has decided to work with the Camping and Caravanning Club on the sale of these two popular and nicely-developed sites.
“The Lake District National Park is hugely popular with tourists. To secure these two campsites in prime, scenic locations is a real coup for the Club and is thanks to our Commercial Development Manager, Nathan Goodyear, who has worked closely with the Stuart family to secure a strong opportunity that will benefit the Club and its members for years to come.”
Scotgate Holiday Park will continue to operate the two campsites under its own branding for the 2019 season and bookings can be made here, or by calling 01768 778343.
The other six Club Sites in the Lake District are Keswick, Derwentwater, Braithwaite Fold, Windermere, Ravenglass and Kendal.
