The surrounding area

Pitch up at our Salisbury Club campsite and you’re ideally situated to visit some of Wiltshire’s best known attractions. Described as the city in the countryside, Salisbury is just a mile-and-a half riverside walk away. Justly famous for its cathedral, home to the famous Magna Carta, and its Close, this bustling market town also boasts attractive timbered buildings, a thriving market, popular Salisbury racecourse, museums and some of England’s finest historic houses.

The area is also well-known for the ancient monument at Stonehenge. Avebury, 19 miles to the north is another less crowded prehistoric site. Old Wardour Castle is also worth a visit.

Take a tour of Wilton House west of Salisbury, set in eight hectares of grounds. Longleat, Beaulieu and the National Motor Museum and popular theme park Paultons are a great family days out from the campsite.

This is a well run site with good modern toilet blocks. Well laid out with plenty of space. The location is great, on the edge of the town with lovely views over the countryside. The bus service into Salisbury is excellent, we never had to wait long, even on Sunday. Well be back for a longer stay!

Excellent big, open site with little shelter and no shade. Short walk along river valley in to city centre. Good dog walking area on adjacent Hudson's Field. Good, fairly level hardstandings. Grass pitches can be very sloping. Only one mhome service point close to entrance. Adjacent rugby club open to non-members. CoOp ten minutes own main road.

I arrived late in the evening, 22.

This review is for Salisbury

I arrived late in the evening, 22.30, I was surprised and pleased to be welcomed by staff still on duty, the staff were welcoming and friendly. I have a dog and when walking out of the site after pitching, I tripped and almost fell. There is a concrete step to the right of the exit, not easily seen in the dark even tho it is painted white. On commenting to a member of the team the next day no sympathy was offered, instead I was told, "well it is painted white" Not friendly or helpful in my view. I felt my complaint was ignored and I am concerned that someone else could also trip and fall.
