Stayed for 3 nights at the end of May.

This review is for Church Farm

Stayed for 3 nights at the end of May. The weather had been wet but the grass pitches were firm enough. Heidi greeted us promptly and gave us choices about where to park. Nice outlook over fields with horses and sheep, even a cuckoo in the vicinity which I haven't heard for years. Some tent campers came for a couple of nights, but pitched at the far end of the next field. There are LOTS of farm cats but they pretty much stay out of the way, and were amusing to watch. It was a bonus to have toilets and showers on site. They were a bit old and tired looking but very clean. This is an old farm with lovely old farm buildings, so its to be expected. Also a washing up area and washing machine. Drinking water tap and waste disposal drains were adequate. The village is lovely, with a nice pub, although it closed on the Sunday evening. It's only a mile and a half to Marlborough, and if walking there is a route to avoid walking on the road, but check carefully with a local or follow a map as it's easy to take a wrong turn! It was a great stay, and we would go again.

Attention needs to be given to the Showers, could do with upgrading and definitely need descaling. Not a problem for us as we could use our own facilities, but could put off those camping.

Peaceful location, nice views, several hook-ups, warm welcome.

This review is for Church Farm

Peaceful location, nice views, several hook-ups, warm welcome. Only one combined WC and shower so difficult if without own facilities. Site has a smaller field with hookups but we were invited to choose where we went and so we sited our motorhome in the larger field, still within in reach of hook-up points. Didn't feel crowded. Shower was a bit basic and although the toilet and floor were clean, the shower tiles were dirty and the curtain needed a wash or replacement. Used once but next day with more campers in tents, it seemed often occupied so we used our own facilities. Easy to get the bus into Marlborough; there are 6 a day. Nice walks from the site and a short walk to the pub. Pretty village. Would recommend to those with own toilet and shower.

Welcomed to site at very short notice having been let down by another site.

Welcomed to site at very short notice having been let down by another site. Mostly flat site through farm , site can be very quiet then a hive of activity from the horses being being brought up, groomed and going off on rides. Site facilities are adequate and clean consisting of 2 showers and toilets plus washup sinks. Maybe hard pressed if site campsite busy. Many walks in the area and pretty aong the river, good pub in village. Will be returning.
