Overview

Please note: Walton On Thames is a Member Only Site.

Please note that this site has no toilet or showers, so you will need suitable facilities in your unit.

A tranquil, traditional campsite within the M25 motorway, which has been in the Club's care for more than 90 years.

Our pretty Walton Thames Club campsite ticks all the boxes for campers wishing to experience the hustle and bustle of the capital but camp in the more relaxed setting of the countryside. You would hardly know this leafy green oasis is located within London’s orbital M25 motorway.

The campsite is well laid out and surprisingly tranquil and spacious. There’s an excellent dog walk on site and numerous opportunities for dogs and walkers to stretch their legs off site, including a pleasant riverside walk into Hersham. Look out for the site’s resident parakeets.

Horse riding, golf, Nordic walking and llama trekking are all activities that can be enjoyed within the vicinity of the campsite.

Train stations at nearby Walton on Thames and Hersham make London and its attractions very easily accessible. Family days out not in the capital can be enjoyed at Thorpe Park, Chessington World of Adventures and Legoland theme parks. The popular Hampton Court and Claremont Landscape Garden are close by.

A wonderful site, peaceful, well kept and in a great location.

This review is for Walton on Thames

A wonderful site, peaceful, well kept and in a great location. We cycled along the Thames tow path and used the train from nearby Hershem station. Carol, the manager, was really friendly, welcoming and informative. Although this site has no facilities we loved our stay here and will return.

Lovely campsite, Carol welcomed us and was accommodating throughout the stay. She helped us with aspects of motorhoming as this was our first time. The site is clean and the grass is well kept. There is a small play area but a lot of land for kids to play. The site is local to many theme parks and London with a train station a mile walk away. Please do ensure you have toilet and shower facilities in your camper as the site does not have any but has all the relevant services for your camper. Ring tip parakeets circle and use the trees at sun down and is a noisey, but colourful sight. I would recomend some bug repellent for night as we did get some bites. The shop has dvds, and other necessities for camping. Overall, a quite site for us city dwellers and you wouldnt think you were inside the M25!

Lovely site, feels much more rural than it is.

Lovely site, feels much more rural than it is. There are aircraft overhead flying to Heathrow but I didn't find them intrusive. There are no showers or toilets (so own facilities are essential) but the water points/waste water/CDP's are spotless and the CDP's have a handwashing sink and soap in them. It is a 20 minute walk to Hersham station where trains run approx. every 30 mins into Waterloo and the journey time is 30 mins. Once there you are perfectly placed for the underground, city bus tours, waterbus. Easy access to all the sights. It is about an hours walk to Hampton Court or a short drive. There is a convenience store within a 10 min walk of the site (down to the end of the track, second road on your right), there is a Tesco Express before you get to the train station. The pub is MILES away. We caught the train daily into London (11.40 for a day return, leaving after 9.30am, anytime return) then used public transport to get to where we wanted to be. Walton on Thames is a great base for visiting the Capital.
