    Top site for fishing

Horsley Club Site, near the North Downs. Perfect for fishing, relaxing, walking.

Our tranquil Horsley Club campsite lies just north of the beautiful Surrey Hills, popular for the network of footpaths that criss-cross them, including the long distance North Downs Way.

Horsley is a peaceful campsite tucked away down the end of a quiet lane. Although large, with some 120 pitches, campers are able to sit back and relax here – either watching the abundant wildlife – foxes, deer, rabbits and ducks are all regular visitors - or casting a line into the picturesque Horsley Lake – the campsite’s centre piece. Day fishing is available here.

The campsite has clean, modern facilities. There is a new children’s play area, dog walk and a recreation room.

The Horsley Jubilee Trail, starting at Horsley station, is a nine-mile circular walk taking in woods, historic buildings, great panoramas and a well-earned refreshment stop at a traditional English pub. You can enjoy more views of the area from Newlands Corner, a popular beauty sport in the Surrey Hills, just south of the campsite.

For days out visit the National Trust’s Polsden Lacey, a stunning Edwardian Manor House near Dorking, RHS Garden Wisely the flagship garden of the Royal Horticultural Society, and its huge plant collection, Bocketts Park Farm near Leatherhead and the Brookland Museum - home to Concorde - in Weybridge.

The theme parks Chessington World of Adventure, Legoland and Thorpe Park are all nearby.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

Worth Noting

Fishing available from site opening to closing – seasonal or daily ticket available. Very limited car parking for visitors. If full, alternative offsite parking will need to be arranged. Close to Wisley RHS.

Really enjoy going to this site, so relaxing. wardens on this site all very friendly, make you very welcome. nothing is to much for them however menial. site and amenities kept very clean. kids playground quite small but that doesn't stop the kids enjoying it. All the kids playing together making friends. Nice to see the kids out playing instead of indoors on the computer. On Sunday it was a pit stop for a bike race in aid of stroke victims. lots of people stop and the kids all cheered them in and off again they seemed to enjoy that also. There is a small village 5 mins drive down the road everything you need butchers, bakers, take away and Budgen's. There is also a train station into London.Local Wisley gardens .We will be back.

This was our first visit to the site but certainly will not be the last.

This was our first visit to the site but certainly will not be the last. We received a very warm welcome from John and Cath and helped to find a pitch which met our needs. The site was lovely with the lake giving interest and was peaceful both during the day and at night. Facilities were spacious, modern and clean with plenty of hot water. Great location for visiting RHS Wisley, Hampton Court Palace, National Trust properties and of course London. We had a most enjoyable stay and hope to return next year.

Given the high cost and the delightful photos on the website we had high expectations of this site. Unfortunately, as tent campers, we were very disappointed when we were placed in a dark wooded area which was later referred to as the 'Deer Park'. You will not find any photos of this area on the website but it has very little direct sunlight and a predominantly dirt base with little grass. The other campsite amenities were good and others camping areas looked lovely. I would suggest if you book a tent pitch here you clarify where you're pitch will be as the Deer Park is definitely not value for money and will typically require additional cleaning effort to all kit. We have since written to the Camping and Caravanning Club however they believe that this is a standard are for tent campers and do not recognise our complaint.
