Relax in the Suffolk countryside

Visitors to Polstead Club campsite can expect to find a thoughtfully laid out campsite, maintained to a high standard. The pitches are generously sized, some are screened by hedges and trees other pitches are in small clusters giving a more secluded feel.

The modern toilet and shower facilities, together with a superb washing up area are centrally located. The site shop is stocked with essentials and younger campers are treated to a small play area.

Its rural location on the edge of a conservation area ensures visitors to our Polstead campsite in Suffolk have plenty to do during their stay. The campsite takes its name from a pretty village just a mile away, which features a large pond separated from the village green by a steep hill. There is an excellent network of paths around the village, some taking in the area’s ancient woodland and county wildlife sites.

The campsite is surrounded by quiet country lanes, ideal for exploration by bike. The Suffolk villages of Kersey, Lavenham – with its stunning guildhall and church - and Boxford are less than ten miles from site.

Constable country, including Flatford Mill and Dedham, is within driving distance, as is Long Melford – home to a number of antique shops and the location for TV’s Lovejoy.

Was warmly welcomed on arrival by the wardens who knew that our daughter, husband and grandchildren were also due to arrive with their caravan so they arranged to put us on adjoining pitches near the childrens' play area. This site is really beautiful with lovely walks to the nearby village. Toilet and showers are spotlessly clean. Some pitches seem a little small and towing a larger caravan through the site can be a little 'tight' in places and must be negotiated with care, the plus side to this is that it stops anyone from 'speeding' around the site!

Very noisy by the road, our first time so we didn't realise. Couldn't sleep so ask to go NOT near the road. Otherwise lovely site in every way. Great cycling and walking, bluebells wild garlic near Polstead. Super lunch in Stoke By Nayland Crown Pub.

This site is exactly what we have been looking for, somewhere we could relax and unwind. A peaceful setting, well kept site and clean facilities, what more could you ask for? We found the owners to be very friendly and welcoming, always ready for a chat, it was obvious that they enjoy what they do and take pride in it. The site is probably more suited to a short stay as there isn't a lot to do in the immediate area although Sudbury is a lovely town with plenty of shops, places to eat and riverside walks. If you are prepared to travel further afield Bury St Edmunds, Aldburgh and Kentwell Hall are worth a visit. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and have already booked again for October.

Just returned from Polstead after a great 3 night stay.

Just returned from Polstead after a great 3 night stay. Although one of the smaller club sites, its very well laid out and maintained to a high standard. The site facilities are well looked after, very clean and more than adequate. We stayed in the Paddock field which has nice views over the fields and countryside. the main site has well sized pitches many are separated by hedges that give a nice defined area. The welcome from Karen was great, very helpful made the stay a very relaxing and enjoyable one. We'll definitely be going back.
