Overview

Open mid March to end of September, the Paddock was Certificated Site of the year 2012. The site is located off the Manton to Edith Weston road on the south shore of Rutland Water. Situated adjacent to the popular cycle route around the reservoir (17 miles or 23 if you take in the peninsular), the site also offers views over the water. An ideal place for bird watching as Osprey can often be seen in the Spring/Summer, and a short walk from the Nature Reserve with its wealth of information, and the waterside Visitor Centre. The four acre site is all grass and level. There are no toilets or showers on site but chemical disposal point, mains water and electric hook-up are available. Member s well behaved dogs are very welcome, nearby footpaths ideal for pet exercise. A viewing platform is also available to enhance views over the reservoir. There is a Garden Centre, with cafe facilities a short walk away. A number of local pubs include The Fox at North Luffenham (three miles) which is highly recommended for real ales and excellent food. Local facilities include fishing, sailing, cycle hire, walking and bird watching.
Please contact the campsite directly if you have any questions about opening dates, facilities or additional measures at this campsite.

This is a Certificated Site (CS). These select sites are small, privately run campsites that operate under the Club’s jurisdiction and can only accommodate up to 5 caravans or motorhomes and up to 10 trailer tents or tents, unless express permission has been given by the Club to accommodate more. They range from secluded Hideaways to fully facilitated family friendly sites, and are often found in locations where larger commercial sites are prohibited so you could be camping close to a beach or in the National Park, for example.

Whilst the majority of Certificated Sites do permit children, please be aware that this site has chosen to be Adults Only.
