Enjoy nature walks, cycle trails and the Peak District from this site.

Our award-winning Club campsite at Teversal is surrounded by gloriously varied walking country. Opposite, the Silverhill Wood Country Park offers direct access to the Teversal Trails and miles of walking and cycling paths. Further afield the walking and cycling trails of the Derbyshire Dales and Peak District offer more challenges through ever changing scenery.

There are a range of Boardman bikes available for hire on site so you can explore the local area during your stay. Hire costs are from as little as £6 per hour or £15 per day. Bookings can be made directly with the site, which is advisable during the peak periods.

Teversal is an established campsite. Hedges and greenery pepper the site which boasts fantastic amenities: auto sensor power showers, individual washrooms with shower, toilet and sink, parent and child facilities, a well-equipped laundry and washing up area and children’s play area. The shop is well stocked and morning papers are available. There’s even a dog/bike shower.

If you can tear yourself away from the campsite, there are numerous attractions close by. The National Trust’s Hardwick Hall and Chatsworth House and Gardens are within easy reach as is Bolsover Castle and Newstead Abbey, the former home of the poet Lord Byron.

Water lovers are catered for at the National Watersports Centre which offers white water rafting, wake boarding, water skiing, sailing and more. Families will love Water Meadows Family Fun pool with slides and wave machine situated in Mansfield.

We only stayed for 2 nights as a stop before heading further north, but could have easily stayed longer. Facilities are amazing especially the toilet block. Family room was ideal for us as have a 1 year old who easily fitted in the large baby bath and shower for older children. Play area ok, but not much for our 1 year old. Large field next door to site for ball games etc. Pitches well layed out and grass well kept. Staff polite and welcoming. Shop on site well stocked, but unfortunately they had run out of site penants (Will have to return). Country park just over the road and a good pub just down the road. This site has it all.

2 families with children and a dog stayed here in the beautiful weather BH weekend, it was our second trip to the site. lovely friendly welcome, kids could visit the shop, helpfully let us stay longer on the checkout day. dog walk field, small playground all good. there is a dog walking park across the road. Great position off the M1 and an hour from Peak District - Bakewell, Chatsworth, Hardwick Hall, Matlock etc. Hardwick Inn does good food and allows dogs. Downsides- had to pick up 2 lots of dog mess off the pitch on arrival. The showers (while fabulous) result in long queues at busy times as the washrooms contain shower, sink and toilet so people take longer. Did not affect me as I am an early riser but did affect others in the group, but the site was full as BH weekend. The dog walking field is also the kids play area- the 2 do not really combine, it would be better to make the 2 separate. Overall great site, only gave 4* and not 5* due to the dog mess on pitch- otherwise all great

The site is very nice and very clean. The washing facilities and shower rooms are fantastic.

This review is for Teversal

The site is very nice and very clean. The washing facilities and shower rooms are fantastic. However, we had two major disappointments with our stay. Firstly, there is a small playground but there is nowhere suitable for children to pursue their own activities, such as kick a football around and play their camping games. The pitches are on top of each other. Our sons were told "no ball games" and ushered to an adjacent overgrown field that is not suitable for anyone to play in. If the warden/site wants children to play in there he should make plans to cut the grass and maintain it, then the field would be used. Children hardly ever ventured into it. It would add so much to the site to utilise that field properly. Secondly, our pitch was a soggy mess. This was after some red hot weather too. Walking around in the tent was like trying to walk on quick sand. The site obviously has a drainage problem in areas. Other than those hiccups, it is a nice place, more geared towards older couples in my opinion.

“Luxury with a capital L. We were lucky to get a late booking which I am sure is only because word has not go out yet. Judging by the attention they were drawing from other campers it will soon! Thanks to Jayne and Chris for a wonderful weekend.”
