Sandringham Club campsite is in a delightfully secluded spot, within the grounds of the Royal Estate in Norfolk.

Campers will love the tranquillity offered by this woodland site where many pitches are set among trees. Away from the site nature and RSPB reserves and the sandy beaches of the north Norfolk coast including Hunstanton and Brancaster will keep all family members entertained.

You won’t have to venture to far from your unit to find things to do at this Club Site. The Sandringham Estate, the country retreat of Her Majesty The Queen, has more than 60 acres of gardens and 600 acres of woodland and heath – over a quarter of which make up the country park which is open to the public. There’s also a visitor centre, a restaurant and a museum of royal memorabilia and vehicles.

Quiet roads and forest tracks around the site are ideal for walkers and dog walkers. Cyclists too can enjoy the quiet roads and Norfolk Coast Cycleway which passes the site.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

Worth Noting

Food, campers’ essentials and gas available from the shop in site reception. The site is now fully digital and TV reception is good.

Seasonal Canine Illness

The Animal Health Trust (AHT) advises dog owners to be vigilant when walking their pets in any woodland, especially between the months of August and November, and recommend you seek immediate veterinary advice should you be at all concerned about the health of your dog. You’ll find more information about Seasonal Canine Illness on the Animal Health Trust website.

We stayed for 10 nights over Easter with our young daughter.

We stayed for 10 nights over Easter with our young daughter. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the facilities were good, although our shower block only had 3 showers which wasnt always enough. We were offered several pitches but chose a pitch in view of the playground and close to the toilet block and water point. We were pleasantly surprised at how quiet this position was at night and during the day. Whilst there were lots of other children on the site it was never noisy or intrusive, with only the sound of the pigeons to wake us in the morning. We had Day trips to Hunstanton, Brancaster and the English Heritage sites and National Trust house at Oxbrough and of course Sandringham. All round a lovely holiday.

Booked for Easter weekend so expecteded the site to be busy. Bit of a wait to check in but to be expected. Was offered the choice of a couple of pitches so selected the flattest one which was fine. Asked which way they wanted me to park and was advised it was up to me, no real direction or assistance. Unfortunately the toilet blocks let this site down. Block A for the ladies had 5 toilets plus 1 disabled, 3 showers and 6 wash basins. What was not acceptable was the lack of privacy for the basins, 2 open fronted and 4 with a shower curtain. None had lockable doors, in fact they were not big enough to accommodate a door. If you were a large person I believe the basins would have been unsuitable. Fortunately I had my own facilities in my Motorhome but when using a CCC site I would normally make full use of facilities. Please upgrade and make larger and private. My partner also encountered similar in the gents area. Would I visit again, probably as I love the area but West Runton is not that far away so maybe not .......

This a lovely site in its own right with the added bonus of its close proximity to Sandringham House and gardens. It's great for cyclists and there's plenty of room for children to play and for dog walking. My only criticism is that there should be a warning on the website about how boggy the grass pitches can become in wet weather. We only just managed to get our motorhome off the pitch when we left, and of course the wardens aren't allowed to tow stuck vehicles.
