Overview

A great campsite to explore Canterbury, with a bus stop outside the site entrance.

City, coast and countryside – you can take your pick if you’re basing yourself at our Canterbury Club campsite. Although a popular stopover for those travelling to or from France, this campsite offers the ideal base for exploring Kent’s coast and country.

The campsite lies a couple of miles south of the city – within walking distance. The not so energetic can catch a bus from outside the campsite. The well laid out campsite offers a mix of level grass and hardstand pitches. There are newly refurbished toilet and shower facilities, a washing up area, children’s play area and good dog walking.

Off site Canterbury is a city packed with history, heritage and culture. It has a stunning cathedral and the ruins of St Augustine’s Abbey and St Martin’s Church and castle. It also has an eclectic mix of specialist shops, independent retailers, bars and restaurants.

Head to the coast for Whitstable with its trendy harbour and July Oyster Festival. The more traditional Herne-Bay has two miles of seafront adorned with colourful beach huts and a pier. The quaint Victorian town of Broadstairs with its Punch and Judy shows and donkey rides is a contrast to the more cosmopolitan habour side Ramsgate noted for its pavement cafes and waterside bars.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

Great site close to Canterbury. Lots to do for all ages. Herne Bay worth visiting.

Great site close to Canterbury. Lots to do for all ages. Herne Bay worth visiting. Canoeing was great fun from Canoe Wild in Fordwich. Good pubs close by. Dover Castle worth a visit. If you like shopping look no further! Cathedral very interesting, a bit pricey but well worth it. Site shop had everything you need. Bags of ice cubes during the heatwave was a fantastic idea. Books to buy and swap a great idea. Showers and washing-up areas spotless. Staff amazing, we couldn't fault the team in any way. We will be returning

We are just home form a really lovely weekend there were 10 of us in total staying in 2 ready Camps, they were brilliant! everything you could possibly need. Beds were really comfy (take your own bedding including fitted sheet) Shower and toilets were spotlessly clean and lots of them so never waited at all. Lovely feel to the place. Pizza van on the friday between 5pm and 8pm(ish) we have never done this before but would defiantly would go back. 25-30 min walk into Canterbury and easy drive to the seaside! great location. great weekend.

We chose this site for its amenities and location, we wanted to do historical research in town. We were travelling on business and just returned from a trip to France, we explained that we needed a restful spot with morning shade for our tent. We were given a pitch, at the entry to the dog walk, right in the farthest corner from the sanitation block, between a large youth group and a family with 3 very young kids, this was far from restful and saw us chased from our pitch most of duration of our stay. The worst part was the direct morning sun, we were forced to get up at 06:40 because of the heat build up in our tent. We do not recommend camping at this site if you want peace and quiet, if you have a young family you will probably enjoy it more.
