Overview

A great campsite to explore Canterbury, with a bus stop outside the site entrance.

City, coast and countryside – you can take your pick if you’re basing yourself at our Canterbury Club campsite. Although a popular stopover for those travelling to or from France, this campsite offers the ideal base for exploring Kent’s coast and country.

The campsite lies a couple of miles south of the city – within walking distance. The not so energetic can catch a bus from outside the campsite. The well laid out campsite offers a mix of level grass and hardstand pitches. There are newly refurbished toilet and shower facilities, a washing up area, children’s play area and good dog walking.

Off site Canterbury is a city packed with history, heritage and culture. It has a stunning cathedral and the ruins of St Augustine’s Abbey and St Martin’s Church and castle. It also has an eclectic mix of specialist shops, independent retailers, bars and restaurants.

Head to the coast for Whitstable with its trendy harbour and July Oyster Festival. The more traditional Herne-Bay has two miles of seafront adorned with colourful beach huts and a pier. The quaint Victorian town of Broadstairs with its Punch and Judy shows and donkey rides is a contrast to the more cosmopolitan habour side Ramsgate noted for its pavement cafes and waterside bars.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

Bizzarre. .

This review is for Canterbury

Bizzarre. .? Shown to pitch by warden who stated categorically I MUST NOT go more than 1 SINGLE INCHall onto the grass as it's a fire barrier!?!?!?! Also told all the club sites are like this!!!! NO THEY ARE NOT! !! Then all the other vans arriving after me had as much space as they wanted!! So apart from this jobsworth, the sites nice and ALL the other wardens were fantastic.

Came on my own to get away from it all and explore the Kent coastal towns. From the nice welcome to the peace and quiet, the spotless facilities and the excellent location (20 minutes walk to the centre of Canterbury, bus stops to everywhere else right outside) I found it the perfect site and will definitely be returning, with the family next time.
