Camping on the Isle of Wight – perfect for relaxing on this tiny island, just a short ferry trip from the England’s south coast.

You’ll find our Adgestone Club campsite in a quiet countryside setting on the beautiful Isle of Wight close to the popular Sandown resort.

Although a large site – 270 pitches – the site is very well laid out with some secluded pitches and is orientated towards families. Adgestone is the only Club Site with a swimming pool (which will be open and heated from the spring bank holiday until the first week in September) and a children’s paddling pool. In addition to the usual toilet/shower facilities, the site also boasts two children’s play areas – one for younger campers and another more extensive area for older children as well as table tennis, boules, outdoor chess and giant jenga. There’s also a shop and takeaway on site.

There numerous walking and cycling opportunities from the campsite. Beach lovers are spoilt for choice with the seaside resorts of Sandown, Shanklin, Ventnor, Cowes and Ryde all close by. For days out Dinosaur Isle, Shanklin Chine, the Needles and Blackgang Chine shouldn’t be missed.

Adgestone Vineyard, overlooking Brading Down – itself worth exploring for its spectacular views across Culver Down and Sandown Bay - offers tours of its wine cellars and tastings. Its café serves excellent cream teas too.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

Wightlink Ferries offer great discounts to all Club members. There are also discounts available to non-members when booking a stay at our Adgestone campsite. Members must carry their membership cards when travelling, and non-members must display their campsite booking reference to claim their discount.

Worth Noting

Some pitches are slightly sloping, so chocks are required. Fishing is available on site in a private carp pool – chargeable, also fishing on River Yar from 16 June to site closure – free of charge.

WiFi

100% coverage cannot be guaranteed due to rural location, weather conditions and changing flora. These can cause variable signal strength. Hotspots are available. Prices.

This site had the very nicest on-site dog walk I have come across.

This review is for Adgestone

This site had the very nicest on-site dog walk I have come across. The walk along the river Yar was beautifully kept and the grass mown short. Longer walks on public footpaths were easily accessed too. Unfortunately we were too early for the swimming pool, though the weather was hot. I do feel the toilet block let the site down. It was difficult to juggle one's stuff in the shower cubicles (only 2!) and NO Heating. Fortunately for us the weather warmed up after a couple of days and the shower itself was good. We hope to return there.

We will not be coming back.

This review is for Adgestone

We will not be coming back. We were misled by the positive reviews into believing this was like other sites in the club but it isn't at all. We found out too late that it's a place for rude people to get drunk in the evenings and leave their rude children unsupervised and screaming their lungs out around other people's tents until 11pm. Facilities run down, shower blocks cold with no outside door. 1 star from us.
