Camping on the Isle of Wight – perfect for relaxing on this tiny island, just a short ferry trip from the England’s south coast.

You’ll find our Adgestone Club campsite in a quiet countryside setting on the beautiful Isle of Wight close to the popular Sandown resort.

Although a large site – 270 pitches – the site is very well laid out with some secluded pitches and is orientated towards families. Adgestone is the only Club Site with a swimming pool (which will be open and heated from June 1st until the first week in September) and a children’s paddling pool. In addition to the usual toilet/shower facilities, the site also boasts two children’s play areas – one for younger campers and another more extensive area for older children as well as table tennis, boules, outdoor chess and giant jenga. There’s also a shop and takeaway on site and a private fishing pool stocked with carp.

There numerous walking and cycling opportunities from the campsite. Beach lovers are spoilt for choice with the seaside resorts of Sandown, Shanklin, Ventnor, Cowes and Ryde all close by. For days out Dinosaur Isle, Shanklin Chine, the Needles and Blackgang Chine shouldn’t be missed.

Adgestone Vineyard, overlooking Brading Down – itself worth exploring for its spectacular views across Culver Down and Sandown Bay - offers tours of its wine cellars and tastings. Its café serves excellent cream teas too.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

Wightlink Ferries offer great discounts to all Club members. There are also discounts available to non-members when booking a stay at our Adgestone campsite

Site is ideally located for the island, great for the kids and very well maintained. We had a wonderful 2 weeks. The staff were very helpful and friendly. There is a small heated outdoor pool which the kids loved but was a little cold at times. 2 play areas. the shop has the basics and there's plenty of shops nearby. The shower blocks clean and tidy but is in need of a little modernising. We will definitely come again.

This is the second year we have had a seasonal pitch on this beautiful site and can highly recommend it. The staff are all so friendly and helpful and will go that exra mile to help with any problems. Although some elements of the site need updating the site is maintained to a very high standard. This all contributes to a very relaxing break. Thank you for a great summer.

A+++++ We stayed for two weeks and thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we had some really nice weather during the last two weeks of Aug / start Sept 2016. We would definitely recommend the site and the Isle of Wight. If you're looking for a relaxing place to stay, quaint villages and coastal walks it would perhaps be a good place for you to visit but a car is recommended. Most attractions on the Island are within 40 minutes drive max. Bring plenty of spending money as most attractions and parking charge although it could be done on a shoe string if you put your mind to it. There's a really big Tescos on the Island and a Morrison's so shopping can be done within easy driving distance. The site was clean, well laid out & the staff were friendly. Constructive comments include the shower block was in need of updating. It's clean and functional but a bit tired. A Portacabin loo is also needed at the other end of site where we were, for those visits at 3am. Lighting was ok closer to the loo but we did use a torch from the tent pitch so bring a decent one. When we arrived, there were really high winds for about 24 hours and some of the pitches were quite exposed although ours was fine. There's a chip shop on site which we didn't use & a small grocery shop with cafe. We used the cafe on the last day to save washing up & had a full English breakfast which was a nice way to finish our holiday. There was a problem one night with a loud, drunken party but it was off-site and outwith the control of CCC staff who were professional & helpful about it. To be fair it was around the time of A-Level results so may have been a one off. We brought our tent with electric hookup but we noticed that some of the lanes around the camp site were really narrow. The caravaners all seemed to manage though & there were passing places. We highly recommend the Benedictine Monastery which was really peaceful. There's a cafe with cake. Overall an excellent place to stay and we would love to come back.
