The surrounding area

Our Hertford Club campsite is on the outskirts of the attractive market town of the same name and surrounded by rolling countryside.

It’s an easy walk into Hertford with its town square and River Lea towpath walk. And Balls Park close by is excellent for dog-walks.

The Cole Green Way, part of the National Cycle Network, is about 1.5 miles from the campsite, starting at Hertford Football Club it follows a former railway to Welwyn Garden City. There are more recreational options at Hartham Common, just a few minutes’ walk from the town centre.

For days out there’s Paradise Wildlife Park, Knebworth House and Waltham Abbey or you can take a train to London from Hertford East which is a 20-minute walk from the campsite.

The site is well laid out with well- maintained facilities including washing machine and dryers, inside dish washing area, an outdoor play area and dog walk.

Just spent 4 nights here & it was great.

Just spent 4 nights here & it was great. Friendly welcome at check in even though the team were dealing with a difficult person trying to pitch up. Plenty of space as the site is huge with something for everyone. The children's play area is massive & ball games are allowed in that area. Good dog walk on site & an even better walk through a gate at the back into a large open space for the dogs to run free. Only thing stopping us giving it 5 stars all the way is the toilet block that is open (no need for two open at this time of year) could do with a bit of TLC as its looking a bit tired. Spotlessly clean & tidy, but tired. Guess its a problem when the site is open all year to find time to do stuff. Saying that it didn't spoil our stay.

We've just got back from a fortnight stay. The site is beautiful with well kept pitches. The facilities are spotless and staff are a real credit to site, friendly and helpful.Shaun and sandra were amazing and have now become good friends. The dog walking area is beautiful with very old oak trees, and a chance to run off lead. Hertford is 1.5 miles away with many shops and a dog friendly pub, the blackbirds, the staff brought water for dogs and a blanket so they could sit on the seating. The site has a very relaxing feel amongst beautiful trees. We would return in a heartbeat. A real jewel.

Friendly welcome by staff, gave us the choice of pitches. Very open site. Walked into Hertford which took approx 20 minutes, had 20% discount at Weatherspoons when showed membership card. Hertford was a joy to walk around and enjoyed a visit to the Museum. M&s and Tesco walkable on edge of town. If you have dogs, some lovely walks. Would recommend.
