We stayed here for 6 nights in early April on a super service pitch.

This review is for Hereford

We stayed here for 6 nights in early April on a super service pitch. On arriving on Easter Sunday, the site was busy but quietened down after the bank holiday weekend. The site is very peaceful. We were on a hard-standing pitch close to the shower block and were glad of this due to the awful weather! It also meant we weren't really disturbed at all by the train line that runs behind the site. The site is beautifully maintained, and the wash facilities were some of the largest and cleanest we've used on a site. The showers were warm and sufficiently powerful. As someone with extremely thick and fairly long hair, it was washed easily in the showers. Some reviewers have commented on the fact they are push button showers but is it really that challenging to push a button every 15-20 seconds or so? No. The toilets were cleaned very well. It's a shame that some people choose to leave behind such a mess in them, especially when toilet brushes are provided! When we asked if we could stay an extra night, this was accommodated well. We visited Weston's Cider during our stay (about 10-15 minute drive from the site) which was well worth doing, and dined at the Olive Tree in Ledbury which was tasty and very good value. Sadly the same cannot be said for the on-site fish and chip van. 3 for a portion of frozen chips fried in old oil just didn't cut it for us and we felt very disappointed by this. However, this is nothing against the site itself, which we would love to return to in the future.

Super friendly and helpful staff.

Super friendly and helpful staff. Immaculate toilet/shower and laundry facilities which was a feat considering the copious amounts of mud due to the constant down pour over Easter. The hardstandings thoughtfully placed to offer everyone a view. There was some road noise and the railway runs alongside, however the trains are infrequent and we only heard them once or twice. This may be more noticeable if in a tent rather than caravan or motor home. An easy stroll to the bus stop for a trip to either Hereford or Ledbury, and superb cycling on the doorstep Would definitely recommend this site to anyone wanting to explore the Herefordshire countryside.

We arrived Good Friday, the rain was just beginning. After a 2 1/2 hour drive we pulled into Reception and found we had booked Hertford instead if Hereford (3 hours away). No problem on one of the busiest weekends and one of the worst weather to be wished for , a pitch was found for us on grass and we were towed into position to protect the already boggy ground. We were made to feel very welcome and after a grand day on the Sunday when we enquired if a hard standing would come free could we move, to be called on shortly afterwards and advised a pitch was free would we like it. 1/2 an hour later we were on hard standing. The whole team went above and beyond endlessly towing vans on and off pitches quickly and efficiently in horrendous conditions as families arrived and departed. Beautiful countryside and we were only sorry we couldn't do all the walks we had promised ourselves. Definitely visiting again having booked the correct site first.

We arrived on Goof Friday it what can only be described as horrendous conditions with torrential rain. The site wardens were fantastic and ensured that our van was positioned on our pitch with the use of a tractor. Steve is always extremely helpful and a really likeable chap, he greeted me like a long lost friend even though this was only our third time on the site. We absolutely love the peaceful setting this site affords, it has a superb dog walking facility and the recently refurbished shower blocks are amazing, including the under floor heating. we will be back in May and hopefully the weather will be more spring like than monsoon season
