We arrived at the site on Friday the 27th April for a 3 night break.

This review is for Hereford

We arrived at the site on Friday the 27th April for a 3 night break. We eventually found a pitch that was relatively level & we set up. As our motorhome is over 7m in length, we prefer to set up for the duration of our stay with our two dogs & then we walk or use public transport if it's available? The Good - as with almost every C&CC site the toilet & shower block was excellent, very modern, clean & well maintained. The site was well maintained. The lake & surrounding woodland walk is very pleasant, offering lots of wildlife viewing opportunities. The fishing was excellent, I caught a wide variety of fish. The Bad - the toilet & shower block cleaning times! During work days we get up at 5:30am, so when we're on holiday it's nice to have a lie in & not have to rush about. We found this very difficult because the toilet & showers were cleaned at 11am. Other campers commented on the unsociable times & that other sites close between 12 & 3pm which seems to us ideal. How about making club sites have a standard cleaning times so we can plan our days better? The cost of the fishing permit is 7.00 per day, I received a massive 50 pence discount because I was staying at the campsite, I was expecting a 30% plus discount? The Ugly - We rely on public transport or the ability to be able to walk to places of interest, e.g. Pubs, restaurants, shops, museums etc. There is nothing apart from the Tarrington Arms pub (which appears to be on the verge of closing down) that you can safely walk to. There are other pubs within 4 miles of the site, but I would not recommend that you walk there due to the lack of footpaths & the amount of traffic! There is a bus service but they do not allow dogs on their buses!!!! In conclusion, Hereford C&C club site is a lovely site if you have alternative transport, but for walkers with dogs it has very little to offer for more than a couple of day

Lovely welcome to a beautiful site run as a franchise.

Lovely welcome to a beautiful site run as a franchise. The entire site and facilities are immaculate and hard to criticize. Possibly a bit of a hike for some to the only toilet/shower block but no more so than many other club sites. Bit miffed to find that my overpriced club wifi card could not be used here until we discovered how cheap the on site wifi is and it works too!! TV, mobile, G4 signals all good too. Handy nearby bus stop for MH'ers. Good on site shop and services including a fantastic carp lake with fishing but you will need to keep a close eye on errant kids!! A great site in a lovely area, what's not to love?

We stayed here for 6 nights in early April on a super service pitch.

This review is for Hereford

We stayed here for 6 nights in early April on a super service pitch. On arriving on Easter Sunday, the site was busy but quietened down after the bank holiday weekend. The site is very peaceful. We were on a hard-standing pitch close to the shower block and were glad of this due to the awful weather! It also meant we weren't really disturbed at all by the train line that runs behind the site. The site is beautifully maintained, and the wash facilities were some of the largest and cleanest we've used on a site. The showers were warm and sufficiently powerful. As someone with extremely thick and fairly long hair, it was washed easily in the showers. Some reviewers have commented on the fact they are push button showers but is it really that challenging to push a button every 15-20 seconds or so? No. The toilets were cleaned very well. It's a shame that some people choose to leave behind such a mess in them, especially when toilet brushes are provided! When we asked if we could stay an extra night, this was accommodated well. We visited Weston's Cider during our stay (about 10-15 minute drive from the site) which was well worth doing, and dined at the Olive Tree in Ledbury which was tasty and very good value. Sadly the same cannot be said for the on-site fish and chip van. 3 for a portion of frozen chips fried in old oil just didn't cut it for us and we felt very disappointed by this. However, this is nothing against the site itself, which we would love to return to in the future.
