My husband and I spent six nights at Setthorns in March and loved every minute.

My husband and I spent six nights at Setthorns in March and loved every minute. We received a warm welcome on arrival and were handed a map and shown where to find the section we had booked. We chose a select pitch and there was plenty of choice. The water supply and waste disposal point was within easy reach. The pitches are wide and you don't feel overlooked at all. Whilst we were setting up all you could hear was bird song and then a group of New Forest ponies wandered through. On our first morning we opened the blinds to see a stag just metres away. An amazing site. We saw many more deer and ponies on the site throughout our stay as well as dozens of grey squirrels. We soon realised that we needed to purchase bird feeders as nearly all the other campers had and the birds arrived within seconds of my husband putting them up along with a crafty squirrel who tried to remove the lid to the peanut feeder! He was unsuccessful so just hung by his back legs and held on with his front legs whilst he ate the nuts! We counted at least 20 different species of birds including woodpeckers, nut hatches and tree creepers. You really don't need your TV until after dark as there is so much to watch from your windows. Would definitely recommend Setthorns for a peaceful back to nature break and I'm sure we will visit again. If you can tear yourself away from the bird watching and wildlife on site there are some lovely villages to visit and beautiful woodland to explore. We will never forget seeing two Highland cows stopping the traffic near Beaulieu!

The site is very spacious giving plenty of room between units.

This review is for Setthorns - New Forest

The site is very spacious giving plenty of room between units. It is ideal for people with dogs as there is plenty of paths for walking. I am disabled and use a mobility scooter and was able to go around the whole site (in sunny conditions) without any problems. There are some lovey towns within easy driving, and would recommend the butchers in Lyndhurst also the bakers, and for me there is a lovely craft shop.

Lovely peaceful site right in the middle of the plantation.

This review is for Setthorns - New Forest

Lovely peaceful site right in the middle of the plantation. Some good walks straight out of the door, and plenty of wildlife. They even have resident deer wandering through the site. Every pitch is unique, in their own little clearings, although getting sunshine is tricky as you are surrounded by trees.

Enjoyed a nice break here. Left the modern world behind.

Enjoyed a nice break here. Left the modern world behind. Good cycle routes to explore, Deers and ponies roam around the park. Recommend bringing ramps as being a natural site the ground is not even.
