Enjoy the tranquillity of the Snowdonia National Park from this peaceful rural site.

Our Bala Club campsite boasts an idyllic rural location just outside the eastern boundary of the beautiful Snowdonia National Park and six miles north of the lake after which it is named. Surrounded by amazing scenery, Bala campsite is the ideal base for exploring the attractions of north Wales.

The pretty and secluded 50 pitch site is level and well maintained with a good range of facilities including toilets, showers, laundry, a small children’s play area and a small dog walk. A short drive away, the town of Bala offer a variety of shops, a petrol station and places to eat. Sailing, canoeing, windsurfing and fishing are all possible on Bala Lake and there are good walks and cycle routes from here too. Bala Lake Railway and the Ffestiniog Railways are great ways to take in the local scenery.

Less than an hour’s drive from Bala campsite is Snowdon, Wales’ highest peak. Scale its heights on foot or catch the train to the summit.

Local resorts with good sandy beaches include Prestatyn, Rhyl, Colwyn Bay, Llandudno, Harlech, Barmouth Fairbourne and Aberdovey.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

We've camped here many times before, and in the past I would have given 5 stars for the site facilities, but not now! The original block has been changed completely, and a very low false ceiling put in. This means that, with the heating pumping out hot air continuously, as it was when we stayed, it is far too hot and there is hardly enough air to breathe. There was one tiny little window that could be opened, and then only from one of the toilet cubicles! The toilets and showers are now all together, whereas they used to be separate, which I preferred, especially if you had to queue for the showers in that heat and lack of air. However,at least the shower cubicles are big enough, and you can control the temperature. The push button does not last nearly long enough, so you spend most of your time in the shower pushing for more water! The seat is pull down, and very good. The sinks in the cubicles are fine, but at the wash basins, which are a different size and shape, once you press the tap the water rebounds off the sink and goes all over the surface. On approaching the utilities block in the middle of the night, you can't actually see where you are going, as there are 4 massively bright lights on the fence that totally blind you. As the surface was uneven in places, this wasn't exactly great! Apparently, there had been 8 of these lights, and 4 had already been removed. Apart from the lighting here, there didn't appear to be any other lights at all around the site, where I'm sure there used to be, but there still appeared to be work going on, so maybe that will be fixed soon. The club have done their usual thing with the water taps, paved by the side of them, but still so that you have to walk on the grass to actually get to them, and with the different levels, in the dark, this is again not ideal. There has been a new bit of road put in on the site, where people had to drive over grass to get to pitches, so this is an improvement.

This was our first time at this site and i must say will be going back soon immaculate little site well maintained showers and disabled toilet would benefit a little shop but Bala was only 3 miles away wardens very helpful the surroundings were stunning and so quiet and peaceful would maybe benefit form a few more lights around the campsite because if you trip your electric without a touch could be a bit of a problem but that is just my observation. pitches were a good size hard standing and grass pitches as we have a hobby and still had room for awning not sure but i think the site holds about 50 pitches so would like to say a big thank you for our 3 night stay and will be seeing you again soon
