This is a Certificated Site (CS). These select sites are small, privately run campsites that operates under the Club’s jurisdiction and can only accommodate up to 5 motorhomes and up to 10 trailer tents or tents, unless express permission has been given by the Club to accommodate more. They range from secluded Hideaways to fully facilitated family friendly sites, and are often found in locations where larger commercial sites are prohibited so you could be camping close to a beach or in the National Park, for example.

Our camping field is all grass pitches (well drained, so ground dries quickly in wet weather) of approximately 1 acre, part level, part gently sloping. It is an open site with views over farmland to the river Severn in one direction and a wooded hillside in the other. For 2018 we have a newly converted wash block and kitchen, and we have a games room with a pool table and tables and chairs, ideal for use in wet weather. Showers and wi-fi are included at no extra cost. There are a number of country pubs with good local food within walking distance or a short drive away. If you want to cook for yourself, there are several farm shops that sell award-winning local produce. It is an ideal location to use as a base for exploring the Forest of Dean which has a wide range of activities and attractions available, as well as the historic town of Chepstow and the wider area. Please note that due to an awkward change of road camber at the entrance the site is not suitable for caravans or larger camper vans (longer than about 6m).

We stayed at the Sheephouse Campsite over the August Bank Holiday weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had a total of 9 children in our party (ages ranging from 4 to 14) and all were able to keep themselves entertained with the facilities available which included a games room with free pool table and climbing frame. There was also plenty of room to set up football pitches and to ride bikes. Campfires are permitted at this site which created a relaxing atmosphere after sunset. Firewood & eggs were available to purchase. The site includes a toilet and shower block which are very nice and in great condition. The block also contains a kitchen area with sinks, freezer, electric kettle & charging points. The owners Tim and Miriam were very friendly & helpful. Should we ever wish to further explore the Forest of Dean we will most definitely be staying here again.

What a lovely site. Facilities are absolutely spotless. We spent a wonderful weekend here and would certainly return. Chickens and cat came to say hello to us on a number of occasions. The owners, Tim and Miriam were lovely and very accommodating.
