Overview

A distinctive and spacious campsite with panoramic views

A spacious campsite, Bracelands provides panoramic views of the magnificent countryside over the River Wye on one side and the wide expanse of the Forest of Dean on the other. It is one of the largest Camping in the Forest sites, with 520 pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes plus five new camping pods, perfect for protection from the elements all year round.

There are a number of footpaths and cycle ways through the forest, allowing you to explore the beautiful surroundings. Attractions near to the campsite include canoeing and boating on the River Wye, GoApe! the high-ropes forest course and the Clearwell Caves which are naturally formed. Bracelands campsite is ideal for families with lots to see and do nearby, such as Symond's Yat, where you can watch peregrine falcons wheeling from their nests on the cliffs.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

Please be aware that Sat Nav is likely to give you a route that involves travelling to the campsite via Symonds Yat. Roads in this area are unsuitable for large vehicles, so please do not follow this route if you are towing or in a motorhome.

We spent a long weekend at Bracelands and you couldnt want for a warmer welcome. We were greeted politely and very efficiently. The site is very clean and tidy, the shower and toilet block was spotless with plenty of hot water . Out and about there are plenty of walks and cycle tracks to keep you occupied for weeks. On the whole a thoroughly enjoyable weekend .

We arrived boxing day and woke up the next morning to a heavy snowfall. The wardens were really busy all day clearing roads and paths. They were really helpful with weather updates and road conditions. We were glad we took plenty of food and drink because the shop is limited. The location is great for forest walks with the dog, we never let him off, I passed a couple of families who had lost their dogs so beware. The staff are really friendly and approachable. Thanks for a great couple of days.

It rained! A lot! but the staff were so helpful & friendly, great sense of humour all round that we loved it! We walked for miles right from the site. Lots of squirrels so mind you don't lose your dog if it chases them in the forest And the sounds and the occasional glimpse of wild boar, also deer, in the forest itself but not on the site. Will go again.
