Adjacent to the beach, Normans Bay site is a haven for walkers and nature lovers.

On the East Sussex coast, our Normans Bay Club campsite is perfect for family camping holidays. Opposite is a sand and shingle beach - ideal for sandcastles, kite flying and bathing. The popular seaside resorts of Eastbourne and Brighton are to the west and Bexhill-on-Sea to the east.

The open and level site has 200 pitches and three amenity blocks. Facilities include washing machines, a parent and child room, children’s play area and recreation hall. There is also a well-stocked site shop.

The nearby Pevensey Levels, known for nature conservation and agriculture, will satisfy nature lovers. For walkers, the South Downs Way (pick it up at the Seven Sisters Country Park) is a great way to see the stunning East Sussex countryside.

The area is steeped in history - the Normans landed here in 1066. Join the 1066 Way which takes you around Battle, Hastings and Pevensey Castle, one of Britain’s oldest strongholds, to discover some of this history.

Eastbourne, five miles south west of the campsite, offers a plethora of things to see and do. There are parks and gardens, the Sovereign Marina with a host of shops, craft outlets and eating places and several beaches offering safe bathing and a variety of water-based activities.

Other attractions in the area include the magnificent moated Herstmonceux Castle, Drusillas Park and Charleston Manor.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

Worth Noting

The site is next to a dog-friendly beach, where fishing is available. Well-stocked site shop sells a range of food as well as bottled gas. No ball games, kite flying or frisbees are allowed on site. These can be played on the beach opposite the site.

WiFi

100% coverage cannot be guaranteed due to rural location, weather conditions and changing flora. These can cause variable signal strength. Hotspots are available. Prices.

Eat Local

There is a Farmers’ Market in Pevensey Bay every other Saturday. The Smugglers Pub in Pevensey uses local produce and is dog friendly. Campers can also get 10% off their meal.

I arrived at Norman's Bay after some horrific weather and was giving such a warm and wonderful welcome! The delightful couple running the campsite were from the Midlands and when I said I was cycling to Wales, they burst into raptures about various places to visit. I was given a secluded pitch right by the facilities and had a very peaceful night. The next day cycling from Norman's Bay to Chichester was in some of the foulest, most extreme weather I've ever endured on a bicycle and I'm convinced that the previous evenings talk of Wales, beaches and the spirit of camping, keep me going! Lovely people and I thank them. Great Club site.

We received a friendly welcome to this site which is along a fairly narrow road set back about 100 yards from the sea which is the other side of the raised stony beach. We were given handy advice regarding pitching our tent regards the wind direction as the site is a bit exposed - however wind was not an issue during our stay. Two amenity blocks, one either end of the site, kept clean and tidy with everything you would expect. Didn't appear to be much in the way of local shops. Handy location for visiting Hastings where we enjoyed a lovely sunny day - go up the east cliff railway for some great views and a walk in the country park, perhaps take a kite. We also went to Brighton but got caught out by the parking charges (excessive) and rain, so unfortunately we left prior to seeing the best of it, we would use park and ride next time we're down that way. The site is a long oval shape with a one way circular access road. Fairly open, with some trees in the middle and fields/open land along the far side and ends. Nice and peaceful during our stay. Very friendly sparrows!

Very large site. Friendly and helpful wardens. site has a fish and chip shop 3 times a week. Takes about 40 minutes to walk to Pevency Bay. Bus stop here direct to Hastings or Eastbourne in the opposite direction Beach minutes away across the road. Site full but facilities always seemed quite clean. Our only problem with this site is we were parked up by the wardens and then they parked a caravan next to us with their door facing ours. We found this quite intrusive and unnecessary. As this site has everything parked in a line there is no privacy whatsoever. Not a hedgerow in site. Apart from that we would recommend this site for anyone who likes being near the beach. We also found a very nice pub called the Star which was very well priced. It takes around 15 minutes to walk there
