Overview

Crowborough lies in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Ashdown Forest, the setting for A.A.Milnes wonderful Winnie the Pooh books is on the doorstep.

London is around 35 miles to the north and the historic spa town of Tunbridge Wells seven miles north west. While the coastal towns of Eastbourne, Brighton and Hastings are around 20 miles away.

The campsite is well laid out. Trees and hedges divide the site giving a more secluded feel in some areas and some sheltered pitches for tent campers. A good range of on-site facilities are available including toilet and showers, a laundry, disabled facilities and a recreation room.

Woodland walks can be enjoyed direct from the campsite and the neighbouring park and leisure centre and swimming pool provide convenient entertainment for younger family members.

Crowborough town is a ten-minute walk from the campsite and offers shops and a good range of places to eat. Visit Tunbridge Wells for its elegant architecture and the Pantiles – a colonnaded walkway where you can browse, shop, eat and stroll.

For family days out visit Bedgebury National Pinetum and Forest, Chiddingstone Caste, The Mill Toy and Pedal Car Museum and The Kent and East Sussex Railway. Biddenden is just one of many Vineyards in the area.

If you'd like to go glamping then Crowborough Ready Camp is the perfect choice. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

Worth Noting

Many pitches are sloping and chocks will be required. We have table tennis and a selection of board games in the Recreation Room.

Eat Local

There are several vineyards in the area including Bolney, Sedlescombe and Chapel Down. Farmers’ Markets are held in the town and Laurel Farm sells local produce. There are several dog-friendly pubs in the area.

We stayed for seven nights in our tent and really thought this was the nicest site we have stayed at,it was quiet and secluded yet just a 15 minute walk to town.Just behind the site was a leisure centre so don't forget your swimming costumes! The staff were smashing and kept all areas lovely and clean we would certainly recommend this site for a peaceful break.

We have just returned from a 6 night break.

This review is for Crowborough

We have just returned from a 6 night break. Everything was as it's always been, a clean well kept site. We had a lovely warm welcome from Jo and Jan. They managed to put us with our two family members who were camping at the same time as us which was much appreciated.

We are just back from a wonderful 2 nights stay at this site.

We are just back from a wonderful 2 nights stay at this site. The ladies on reception gave us an exceptionally warm welcome and showed us to a lovely pitch. Pitches are large, hardstanding but surrounded by neatly mown grass so we had the best of both worlds. We were there during the April heatwave so we spent lots of time lounging in the sun. Mornings and evenings we walked our 2 dogs in nearby Ashdown Forest where the paths had dried out well after the wet winter. The site was peaceful and had a tranquil ambience.Yes you can hear occasional aircraft noise en route to and from Gatwick and yes the tiles in the shower rooms are quite tired but this does not detract from this very pleasant site. The toilets and showers were spotless and the whole site was immaculately maintained. We loved it and will most definitely return next time we are over that way.
