    Top site for beaches

On Scotland's sunshine coast, to the east of the country's capital, Edinburgh.

Our peaceful Dunbar Club campsite is just a stone’s throw from the popular East Lothian seaside town of the same name and adjacent to Whitesands Bay - a long stretch of sandy surfing beach.

Spectacular landscapes surround the campsite, ensuring wherever you are pitched you have a stunning view. Seaward the impressive views extend over the Firth of Forth and Bass Rock – temporary nesting spot for 150,000 seabirds during peak season.

The campsite is well laid out and spacious with 115 pitches, some of which are hardstands. Modern facilities, including a wetsuit shower are available.

Dunbar, three miles from the campsite, offers shops, places to eat and more beaches. East beach, minutes from the town centre is great for bathing, paddle boarding and sea kayaking.

Inland other attractions include East Links Family Park with animals and a narrow gauge railway; the Museum of Flight at East Fortune and the Scottish Seabird Centre in North Berwick, where you can view gannets, puffins and seals from interactive live cameras.

WiFi

The WiFi service is excellent throughout the campsite. Prices.

This was a great site, friendly staff who took a real interest in people and were very helpful.

This was a great site, friendly staff who took a real interest in people and were very helpful. The facilities were superb and the cleanliness of the whole site exceptional. This site had been really well thought out. The views from the site were magnificent and it was a short walk to getting on the John Muir Way, the coastal path. Good walk in to Dunbar. The John Muir Country Park was fabulous and great for our dog. Lots of superb trails. North Berwick close by which is very quaint. Great site for checking out lots of interesting places. We will most certainly be heading back there.

A really nice site, open and with good views to the Bass rock and sea over woods.

A really nice site, open and with good views to the Bass rock and sea over woods. Pitches are well spaced and you can park on your pitch. One toilet block on site but enough facilities and spotless, good washing up area too. The staff were great. The walk to the beach was fine but the walk to Dunbar by road was easier as the golf course route doesn't particularly welcome walkers, despite the route being a core path. We knew to expect wind would hit us in the tent, but we had asked for a pitch with hook up and there are more sheltered tent pitches without electricity. There was a wedding in the grounds next door and the disco and fireworks were loud so might affect early sleepers, children and pets, so I'd check at time of booking, as maybe it doesn't happen often.

We came here for a quiet weekend but unfortunately that was not the case.

We came here for a quiet weekend but unfortunately that was not the case. There is a wedding venue behind the trees and on Saturday night we had to endure extremely loud music which went on for hours followed by fireworks which scared our dog. There is only one toilet block on the site and it is quite large so, if like us you were at the bottom of the site it is a bit of a walk and it is quite a steep incline for a caravan site. If you want a lie in this is not the site for you as the toilet block closes for cleaning at 10.30am. On the plus side, the toilet block is very clean and well maintained. The staff are very nice and the site shop is well stocked. Note: all shop and gas sales are cash only. This is a great site for coastal walking, which our dogs enjoyed immensely. Due to the negative factors we would not return.

We have just had two days here as we wanted to stay near Edinburgh.

We have just had two days here as we wanted to stay near Edinburgh. We cannot paradise the site and the staff highly enough. A happy smiling face when we arrived. Help when we asked for it and what a stunning view of the coast and Bass rock. The site and it's facilities were spotless. We were treated to lovely sunsets, and even had the treat of a gentleman playing his bagpipes one afternoon. We found the park and ride system easy to use to go into Edinburgh. Even though the site was quite full it was quiet and everyone friendly.
