Spacious Summer Camping Field

Charmouth also has a large flat summer camping field accessed by a hard core road. There are some electric hook ups and many grass only pitches for tents and trailer tents. To book these and for further information please call the site direct on 01297 32965 or the call centre.

Our pretty Charmouth Club campsite is perfectly located for exploring Dorset’s spectacular Jurrasic coast and many popular resorts including Lyme Regis and Beer to the west and West Bay and Weymouth to the east.

Surrounded by rolling hills, this well-maintained campsite offers spacious pitches in small clusters bordered by trees and bushes. As well as the expected toilet and shower facilities, the campsite boasts a laundry, a well-stocked shop, children’s play area and dog walk.

If fossil hunting is on your holiday to do list, visit the Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre for information. The beach here is a good place to start your hunt for fossils or head east from the campsite to the famous Chesil Beach.

For days out the beautiful Forde Abbey and gardens at Chard is a must. Abbotsbury Swannery is ideal for children or for something different, enjoy the stunning Axe Valley from the Seaton Tramway’s hot pink narrow gauge tram.

Stayed here for 3 nights with friends in two Campervans.

This review is for Charmouth

Stayed here for 3 nights with friends in two Campervans. The Managers got us pitched next to each other on spacious hard standings. Facilities were excellent with a brand new Shower Block with modern high quality showers and toilet facilities. Also family shower rooms. Shaver points and hair driers. The block also contained a Laundry room and Washing up facilities with very hot water. Friday - Sunday 5pm - 8pm you can buy fish and chips etc from a stall. Big field for the kids to play in with Climbing Frames etc. Site is approx 4 miles inland from Charmouth and being Dorset is very hilly. If you are used to trekking, I'm sure you could walk it but we chose to catch the bus which runs approx hourly. The Stop though is a brisk 20 mins walk from the site. Getting on for a mile or so down down some busy country lanes. Probably not the greatest walk for families with young children and buggies or people with limited walking abilities. All in all and very nice well kept, friendly site that we would recommend.
