They range from secluded Hideaways to fully facilitated family friendly sites, and are often found in locations where larger commercial sites are prohibited so you could be camping close to a beach or in the National Park, for example.

Brightwater Farm is tucked away in a picturesque combe outside the tiny North Devon village of Sutcombe. Within easy driving distance campers can enjoy the benefits of country and coast. Nearby are both quiet and lively seaside resorts. Local attractions include Tamar Lakes(sailing), Rosemoor RHS Gardens, Clovelly and Devons famous Gnome reserve. Family friendly site, with dogs are welcome but STRICTLY on a lead due to surrounding farms. Wi-Fi available on site.

A beautiful secluded site, run by very welcoming and friendly hosts.

A beautiful secluded site, run by very welcoming and friendly hosts. Unfortunately were unable to spend as much time as we would have liked around the campsite but we did enjoy eating breakfast whilst watching the birds on the bird feeder set up next to our tent. The attached Art Brewery was a very pleasant surprise which we visited on the Friday evening. It was lovely to meet and chat with some of the local community. We will certainly be returning in the future.

This campsite is a little gem. We had a fantastic six relaxing days stay here. The shower facility is kept immaculate and the site is spotless. Anthony and Margaret are great hosts and very welcoming, we were made a cup of tea upon arrival. We went to the beach most days a pleasant 20-25 journey to Bude, also to Westward Ho great beach. I can only speak highly of this campsite and we will be returning. There is a micro brewery on site I would recommend the black cherry and chocolate porter ale absolutely lovely also the homemade jam. This is a small bespoke site with secluded spots very peaceful. A great place for children to explore Thanks again for a great holiday

If I had children this is the place I would want to bring them up.

If I had children this is the place I would want to bring them up. There is a large pond, a river with 3 small, accessible islands, wildlife and birds in abundance, lots of places to explore, peace and quiet. It is run by a very friendly family for whom nothing is too much trouble and everything is a pleasure. Of course the brewery taproom being open for the 3 days we were there has in no way coloured my view. In short, it is an idyll.

Gorgeous small site on a hill with surprisingly level pitches spread around the site.

Gorgeous small site on a hill with surprisingly level pitches spread around the site. The brewery bar is open on Fridays and Saturdays and is a highlight. There is no pub in the village so their small brew barn is a friendly focal point for the community and the Art Brew beers are excellent. There is only one shower but the site is so small this will not usually be a problem, the shower was excellent. There are plenty of places to visit for days out, we visited Bude and Clovelly and both were enjoyable easy day trips by car. This site is a must for beer lovers looking to sample some local beers from the on-site micro-brewery.
