First impressions are usually what you remember - lots of low hanging trees on approach and also onsite, receptionist was rude and obnoxious and she wasnt of any help. The wardens however were not of the same attitude as they were cheerful and friendly. Site was massive with a few toilet/shower blocks. We didnt use them as they didnt look great and in need of refurbishment. Plenty of service points and the chemical waste point was clean. Afraid we wouldnt return to this site and unsure why the standards are so different between different club sites?

Great large site in open countryside with its own pub.

This review is for Windermere

Great large site in open countryside with its own pub.The toilet block requires serious attention as the urinals are both broken and leaking and taped up to prevent access. Not what you would expect when the site must be making a fortune from the number of pitches available.

We stayed in a Ready Tent. Lovely to arrive late and our tent was all set up and ready to go. A very helpful and friendly chap on a bike took us to our tent and showed us where everything was and how it all worked. We had a lovely walk around the site. Lots of water points and good facilities for showers, toilets and washing up. We had a late dinner in the whistling pub... this was very over priced and not that good. But we were all that hungry after a long drive. I would imagine there are better places to try but we never got the chance. We got ready for bed and settled the children for bed too. This is where our holiday hits an awful snag. The other families... So the ready tents are all together 8 in total (i think) 4 of these tents were occupied by a large group of 4 families. They seemed to think the rules didn't apply to them. Kicking footballs everywhere, frisbees hitting the car. Then the party it was way after 2am before the music, the shouting, swearing and drunken singing stopped. Various campers tried to ask nicely that they turn the music down. All who tried failed, had abusive and aggressive behaviour to contend with. It was awful, both our children woke up and struggled to get back to sleep. In the morning the families concerned thought it was funny and bragged about how it was a good night and how the site was full of old folk who needed to get a life. Whilst the staff were aware that there had been problems over night. They had in excess of 50 individual complaints about the party tent. They said all they could do was give a warning. They couldn't ask them to leave as this was part of C&CC policy. (I have yet to find this policy) Needless to say we left. I would like to hope that the manager manged to get through to the families and that tonight will be a better night for all those still there, but somehow I doubt it very much. I wish I had known there was no staff on site after 8pm. A shame a group can ruin a holiday.

Our first visit to a C&CC site.

This review is for Windermere

Our first visit to a C&CC site. We Visited for 5 nights so that we could climb Scafell and Helvellyn. Staff were helpful and friendly. They were busy throughout our stay doing ground works, making sure the bins were emptied regularly and cleaning the facilities as well as showing guests to their pitches. There was lots of hot water for showers and washing up. The facilities were always clean (easier when the Weathers nice obviously) overall a pleasant stay. Would visit again.
