Overview

With fields and fells all around, this is a stunning place to camp, and rightly popular with walkers and cyclists on the hunt for some classic Lake District scenery. The Lake District is arguably the most beautiful corner of England, this remarkable region is surely the perfect retreat for any camper. Tucked away down a narrow country lane, Eskdale can be found in one of the Lakes more secluded pockets, the Eskdale valley. Eight acres of flat, well maintained grassland are backed by tall trees. Upon arrival, you instantly realise Eskdales facilities have been created with hassle-free camping in mind, facilities well-maintained, and the fully-stocked shop is a life saver when you forget your toothbrush! If you wish to get reacquainted with Mother Nature, then Eskdale’s location couldn’t be better. The site is ideally placed for reaching the impressive Wasdale fells or climbing England’s highest mountain, Scafell Pike. Also right on your doorstep is one of the most beautiful train journeys in England, the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway. This historic, narrow gauge railway carries passengers along seven miles of spectacular scenery on an unforgettable 40-minute ride. Eskdale has a cosy, friendly atmosphere and is a genuinely lovely place to camp. Come visit. Open 1st March until 14th January.

This is a Listed Site (LS) that is licensed by the Local Authority and not under the jurisdiction of The Camping and Caravanning Club. These range from large parks with bars, swimming pools and entertainment to small, quiet commercial sites. The Club cannot approve or recommend Listed Sites, these are simply provided to give you more choice. It's worth checking when booking as some sites offer members a discount on pitch fees.
