Great site quiet with country views.

This review is for The Beeches

Great site quiet with country views. A little tricky to access over a narrow bridge and winding track with limited view. A warning beep of the horn advisable as no passing places. Owner Peter is very friendly and laid back. Morrisons just a couple of minutes away. Would come back here again. Big thank you to Peter.

Great little site on the outskirts of Darlo. We had a fantastic bank holiday wk end here. Peter is so friendly and is always busy. The site has all the things needed for an ideal break and you could be in the middle of anywhere. The showers and toilets were nice and clean and the hook up points are approx 25metres at the most depending where you pitch. The use of the fridge and freezer in the wash room/shower area is a nice touch, ideal for making ice for the copious amounts of refreshments needed when its nice and warm which it was. The only downside we had was when some of the traveller community came on looking around, and one threw a discarded cigarette in the bin, which took hold and started a small fire, luckily enough my wife saw it and we managed to put it out between us, even though the bin was well alight, it helped with the water point being nearby and we got it under control and extinguished it. We wouldn't like to say what could've happened to Peters Farm buildings if it had caught hold. Other than this little bit of excitement we had a perfect BH WK End. Look forward to going back very soon. Thanks Peter.

Great last minute find I can only sing the praise of this last minute find due to unforeseen circumstances of another site cancellation, hope all is well, and at 15/night including electric a good price especially over the easter bank holiday, as the the previous review says SO quiet and very little interference by the occasional passing train, you are in walking distance of the brick train sculpture and the pub(the old farm house ) which served lovely food by very pleasant staff at I think at a reasonable price. While we were there we visited Bishop Auckland (approx 50min/31miles) lovely place to look around and then drove onto a beautiful waterfall, high force(approx 45min from site) is a must see natural beauty, we also went to Durham(approx 45min /25miles) again a beautiful place to visit steeped in history, we went on a 1hr river cruise(8/person) great way to see the cathedral, and we also went to Newcastle for the day(approx 1hr/40miles) the river and bridges were stunning, go to the Baltic gallery which was free, and has stunning views looking down the river, and we also went to Hartlepool(approx 40min) which has had some regeneration and we spent most of the day exploring the oldest floating naval battle ship, the museum is free, but going onto the boat/etc there may be a cost. All in all we had a great stay, and would like to say thank you to the friendly owner, cheers.

Just outside the centre of Darlington but could have been in another county.

This review is for The Beeches

Just outside the centre of Darlington but could have been in another county. The lane from the main road to the site is quite long and well sign posted. At one point went over a small railway bridge. The site is to the side of farm buildings, with hardstanding pitches over looking rolling fields. The view is occassionally broken up by unobtrusive passing trains seeming to cross the fields, without the aid of an unseen railway line. The pitches are well spaced with electric hook up and an easily accessable water tap between. Waste water, chemical drain and rubbish bins are in a fenced off area. A farm building at one end of the site has a pot washing room, a door leeds from this to two separate washrooms incorporating in each a toilet, wash basin and separate shower cubicles. Toilet rolls and liquid soap are plentiful, but take your own towels. There are also plenty of hooks in each room. Darlington itself is a big town under going regeneration. This site is a lovely and tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle nearby. Two horses live in the next field and are lovely to watch along with the birds and after dark bats were swooping around. The owner was friendly and helpful. I would recommend this site and even though we live nearby we will return mainly for the space, the peace and the tranquility.
