Going to be totally honest here.

This review is for Hafod Fadog

Going to be totally honest here. The campsite is well maintained, the grass is in immaculate condition and cut perfectly. There are two fields, one with a large fenced off pond with fish. Facilities consist of 2 toilets one of which has a shower and there is a separate one. No sinks to wash hands or brush teeth although there is an outside sink with hot water to wash your dishes. No mirrors too. Single shower is small, no dressing area, the water does not drain and there is always at least 1-2 inches of water around your feet. Facilities were not cleaned during our stay, there were snails on the ceiling and walls. Brought my own cleaning products and cleaned the floor around the toilet. There is an outside drinking water tap and a waste disposable for caravans. No ice pack freezing facilities for the tent campers so it was a huge struggle to keep cooler boxes cold. The campsite is situated between the railway line, Express Way and a main road and we found this extremely noisy all through the night, the train also sounded the horn very early hours (I do live on a main road). I guess the caravan owners didn't experience this as much as they have insulation. On our arrival we discovered a wasp nest very close to our tent which obviously meant there were always wasps in our tents not good when you have a phobia. We did mention this to the guy who was there on our arrival. Owner's house was behind our tent and the top floor window was open all day and night, we could hear the television (24 hours a day) because it was that loud and it kept us from falling asleep. On our last day a very large group of friends or family turned up, they were very noisy, loud music played from speakers till 11pm. Eventually the owners asked them to tone it down. Facilities were inadequate for us all. Owners were very apologetic. Overall if you don't have sleeping issues this is a great campsite and situated in a brilliant position to explore that part of Wales.

We booked in for five nights initially.

We booked in for five nights initially. The facilities were basic but managable for the small number of people there. There was a shower with toilet in one room, a seperate single toilet and a seperate single shower . With a couple of stupid things, like the shower that had the fall on the shower floor about 30cm away from the drain. So you ended up with a pool of water in the shower, that you had to bail out before you tried to dry yourself. At £15 per night for a caravan and two adults it was just borderline. So we booked for an extra two nights to take us to Sunday morning as the weather had improved. Unfortunately Saturday afternoon about seven cars each with a tent appeared. At least two adults to a car. This brought the total to around 24 adults and probably the same amount of kids. This would obviously put a strain on the facilities. Then at around 6.30pm the disco started, it was like being next to a pop festival. I do not know how these people think that this is acceptable behaviour on a small quite(up until now) rural campsite. The owners must take a lot of blame for allowing a large group onto the site. Myself and my wife were not the only ones dismayed by this behavior. Other campers we spoke to were of the same opinion. So by 9.30pm we had left (loud music still going strong) about twelve hours before we should. We felt extremely sorry for the campers that still had to put up with the party animals. We will NOT being going back.

Fantastic little gem, surrounded by trees.

This review is for Hafod Fadog

Fantastic little gem, surrounded by trees. Very friendly owners and relaxed and refreshingly informal site. 2 free hot showers, 2 toilets, chem waste and electric hook up. Near to the coast and village is 15 min walk away, which has 3 pubs, co-op, pharmacy, takeaway and a chippy. On local bus route and near train station. Local attractions- beautiful beach, shallow, so ideal for kids, is a five min drive away, which has a cafe, restaurant, large duck pond and a nature reserve running along the coast. Waterfalls and another cafe close by. 3 brothers own the site with help from Danny, and do a brilliant job. Watch out for the entrance( by the little house) down the drive and field is on the left. No problem getting our 24ft caravan down the drive so don't worry. Good luck boys, lovely place and have returned many times.Would definitely recommend, as long as you don't pinch our favourite pitch.

I'd like to echo previous reviews and mainly the one left by Denise.

I'd like to echo previous reviews and mainly the one left by Denise. This is a fabulous quiet site with polite and welcoming owners. So much to do and see within short drives and a walk into the village and down to the sea is about 30 minutes. Overall a real gem of a place to stay and we plan to come back here again.
