Stay in the grounds of a fairytale Scottish castle on the South Ayrshire coast, with sunsets to die for.

Pitch in the grounds of the cliff top Culzean Castle Club campsite and you’ll be rewarded with stunning views across the Firth of Clyde to the islands of Arran and Ailsa Craig, and the Mull of Kintyre. Our campsite here is in an area rich with beautiful countryside and coastline, fantastic walking, stunning beaches and many interesting places to visit.

Our spacious, secure 90-pitch site welcomes all camping units and offers good facilities for campers including showers, toilets, washing up area and a children’s play area.

The National Trust for Scotland managed Castle and Country Park are a short walk away and includes five kilometres of coastline with sand dunes, caves, rock pools and sand and shingle beaches.

Fishermen can enjoy some fly fishing at Mochrum Loch close to the site. The 24 acre loch is stocked with brown, blue and rainbow trout.

Head north from the campsite and you’ll come to the coastal town of Ayr with its many shops, bars and restaurants. Just before you reach Ayr, the Burns Heritage Park in Alloway is worth a detour.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

WiFi

100% coverage cannot be guaranteed due to rural location, weather conditions and changing flora. These can cause variable signal strength. Hotspots are available. Prices.

Worth Noting

Some pitches are sloping and chocks will be required. Please note that mobile phone reception for some networks is poor. Steel awning pegs required for hardstandings. Please note only one car per unit is allowed on site. TV reception can be poor. In 2016 the site underwent a full winter refurbishment – all roads are now tarmac. There are new toilet facilities and the double row of hardstanding pitches are staggered allowing most pitches a lovely view of Arran and the sea.

Eat Local

Downhill Country Fayre in Turnberry has a licensed restaurant, coffee house and farm shop with its own butchery.

We are travelling the UK for 5 months and have so far done Cornwall, Walles and about half of England. We have stayed in 27 parks and have just begun in Scotland but this park surpasses anything we have visited to date. The views are to die for (particularly if you can score a pitch at the front). What we really love is that it is not a huge park. There are lots of trees and it is very peaceful. There is a bus stop about 100m away you go into beautiful Ayr. Travelling for a long period means washing and drying sheets, towels and clothes. This adds about 10 quid a week so it was great to see that there are two rotary clotheslines (don't forget your pegs!). Oh! Nearly forgot. Culzean Castle itself is not what I expected after seeing so many medieval castles. This is not that old. Very well kept as National Trust rent the rooms out as accommodation. The beautiful woods and walks are right next door to the park so plenty to do do. Plus the beach. A lovely place to stay.

Lovely site, not to big, everything kept spotlessly clean and maintained, staff friendly and helpfull. Lovely view from top of the site, its just a pity that us 'grass with no electric' were at the back of the site with no views, but other wise we could not fault the site. Good for 'site seeing' in the area, Culzean Castle worth a visit along with its little secluded beaches.

Had an amazing time at this site.

Had an amazing time at this site. Lovely, friendly staff who managed to pull off the magic of always being there to help when you needed them without being intrusive. The facilities are spotlessly clean and really handy for the pitches. There is everything you could really need - hot showers, dish washing facilities, spotlessly clean toilets (I know I've said that before but they really are amazingly clean!), drinking water within easy reach. The views were to die for and sunset was mind-blowingly lovely. We took our little boys who had never been camping before and they're hooked now :) The only thing I would have liked to see was a fire pit or a barbeque but that's just because we like that and even without it was a brilliant stay.
