Delftse Hout Rally

from £21.50 to £29.40 Per unit

Overview

In the suburbs of Delft and close to a lake

Great for... exploring the Netherlands. Delft is a charming old market town with a bustling market square, canals and cobbled streets. The factories where the hand-crafted Delft Blue porcelain is made are close by. This is an ideal base for local cycling tours and also for exploring further afield in the Netherlands. It’s a great time for seeing the bulb fields and visiting Keukenhof Gardens – and don’t miss the nationwide King’s Day celebrations, on the public holiday of 27 April.

Rally Stewards will be Ken and Sylvia Hale.

Typical activities have previously included weekly rally dinners, canal trips, visits to the Royal Delft porcelain factories, quizzes, golf, cheese and wine parties and social evenings.  Tickets for the popular coach tour to see the Flower Parade pass through Voorhout on 13 April 2019 are bookable in advance of the rally for £13.65 per person.

This is the third time I have enjoyed this rally.

This review is for Delftse Hout Rally

This is the third time I have enjoyed this rally. The stewards, Ken & Sylvia are great and keep things ticking along nicely with plenty to do onsite as well as visits and bike rides around the area. This time, unfortunately, my stay was marred by one member of the onsite staff. As I am disabled I tend to use the disabled facilities for showering etc. This one particular time I was mid shower when someone started beating hell out of the door. It gave me the impression that someone was trying to break it down. Eventually I interrupted my shower, wrapped a towel around me and opened the door. I was faced with the cleaner, accusing me of not being disabled and that a lady in a wheelchair wanted to use the facilities. I don't know what he was expecting me to do other than vacate the facility so the woman could use it. I found the whole episode humiliating and upsetting and felt, throughout the rest of my stay, that I need to take my Blue Disabled Badge with me in case I needed to prove my disability. I reported this to the office but they just ignored it. I will go to this rally again but I will be very wary of certain members of staff.

This was our 5th time on the Delft rally, as usual the stewards, Ken and Sylvia, were outstanding nothing too much trouble for them making sure there were trips and inside/outside entertainment for all. Again we met up with old friends and made lots of new ones, which we hope to meet again on other rallies. This is a friendly rally and Ideal for first timers abroad as its less than 30 mins from the ferry port. The campsite is excellent and staff very helpful. You can buy tram tickets at reception and discounted tickets for other attractions. We love the area as it is in the countryside with lovely walks and cycle paths but close to Delft with its bars, restaurants, canals and lovely old buildings. There is a twice weekly market and numerous supermarkets within walking or cycling distance. There is plenty to do in Delft itself and it has very good transport links via trams or railway. For those who cannot walk into the town there was a bus from early April outside the site or just down the road.

Our fourth time at this rally.

This review is for Delftse Hout Rally

Our fourth time at this rally. Location is ideal being in country park but very close to Delft itself. Rally stewards do a great job ensuring everyone is included. Campsite staff very helpful and friendly. Activities ensure everyone can mix if they wish. Transport excellent if you dont want to cycle or walk. Campsite is planning major upgrade over winter period so next years layout may be different. MH pitches at present bit short so some MHs park at an angle or across pitch. Thoroughly recommend this rally. We will be returning.
