Rally Info

(2018-19 Winter Season) 15 Oct-15 Apr The Rally Stewards will be Peter and Tina Edwards. This rally is already extremely popular, with excellent rally prices and value for money in the area, and members should book their full intended stay early as possible. Regulars should note the much reduced capacity onsite this winter and minimum stay in our prices . Ralliers have access to a function room 2 or 3 times a week (exclusive use of the room cannot be guaranteed). Typical rally activities (subject to demand) may include boules competitions, local walks, cycle rides, quiz nights, party nights, BBQ and cheese and wine afternoons, line dancing, flat green bowls, dinner dances, onsite street parties, meals out, show nights, whist, golf trips and coach excursions to local places of interest. Members have also much enjoyed the many carnivals in and around Benidorm that start in November and take place throughout the winter. Rally pitches approx. 68 (subject to demand). Rally pitches may be spread throughout the site, among other campers (including increasing numbers of large US-style RVs and fifth wheelers) and the site's own rental accommodation, including large chalets. Pitches are mainly gravel, all have 16A hook-up, water and drainage, analogue and digital TV connection. Pitch allocation on arrival by site reception.

A valid Camping Card International (CCI), available from the Club, is required for all our overseas rallies.

Overview

In a quiet location on the edge of Benidorm, with views of the mountains.

Almafra is close enough to both Benidorm, with all the fabulous beaches and attractions of this famous resort, and some traditional Spanish towns alike. The new management is keen to continue to support the rally, and members tell us they are impressed by the upgrades and improvements being made. The open air swimming pool is closed in winter, but the indoor pool, sauna and Jacuzzi are half price to Club members, who also enjoy special rates for the superbly equiped gym. There is a friendly bar where snacks are served, while a full service restaurant also functions midday and evening. Just near the campsite entrance are the tram station and bus stops from where you can go directly into Benidorm, Altea or Alicante, or even get a connection to València. Benidorm is just comfortably at arm's length, while the traditional resorts and towns of Altea, Albir and Alfaz del Pi are just beyond the doorstep.

We visited this site and rally as a taster to a possible future longer stay.

This review is for Almafra

We visited this site and rally as a taster to a possible future longer stay. Its real plus point for a motorhome owner is the nearness to the coastal tram service and the bus route between Altea and Benidorm. We were made welcome by the rally stewards and soon felt at home. We found our stay of seven nights wasn't long enough to make the best of the rally but we concluded it was certainly worthy of a much longer stay.

Will definitely do more rallies.

This review is for Almafra

Will definitely do more rallies. Absolutely loved being part of the gang and was made most welcome. Might not come back to Almafra though. Feel cheated by the apparent electricity usage but as the connection and readings are done by ground staff there is no easy way to disprove the readings.

Plenty of interesting and relaxing places to visit.

This review is for Almafra

Plenty of interesting and relaxing places to visit. Sadly, this is the only advantage of the site. It is rougher than other sites both underfoot and psychologically. We were booked in for 3 weeks but left after only one.

Very nice friendly helpfull staff with very good English.

This review is for Almafra

Very nice friendly helpfull staff with very good English. We have stayed here three times and find other campers and resident British people very friendly. We liked the bar and the entertainment. Easy access from main roads when towing a caravan. The road to the campsite has been closed off the N332 so go to the next roundabout, sign Al Faz, and turn left at new roundabout, then left at next new roundabout. Almafra is on the right. The site is easy to drive around when towing and has large flat pitches all with 16 amp electric, water and drainage. The on site shop now open 8am-9pm, 9-3 Sunday. It still sells frozen UK bread and bacon. Baguettes are available here and in the bar. Toilets are modern and were ok until the Spanish came at Easter. Should be cleaned more regularly at busy periods. Showers were good with easy 10 second push buttons. Wired TV is now BBC1, ITV, 5 and E4. Wifi is free in the bar but bad around the site if you pay. If you are staying a few weeks reception can get 'Cloud' to put a mast at your pitch and modem in your caravan. 90euro deposit you get back when you return them to reception. I then got good reception for skype and I used my iPad to get free freeview TV. I found the local Al Faz service station the cheapest for diesel and it has an auto car wash. I visited 6 other campsites around Benidorm and personally would only use Almafra. Some dislikes for me at the other campsites were, shanty town seasonals, small pitches, very sloping pitches, long walks for toilets, long uphill walks for water and drainage, tight corners when towing, long walks to bus stops. The buses are one price for one or 40 stops, 1. 50 euros or 1. 30 with a 20 euro card purchased on the bus. No. 10 bus runs every that passes the site goes form Benidorm to Altea. It runs every 15 minutes. The bus stop has moved because of the road closure. It is now about 400 metres from reception.
