Great well located for village, beach, railway. very well maintained.

This review is for Les Ecureuils

Great well located for village, beach, railway. very well maintained. Disappointing and somewhat odd that the bar and catering close the bar while they have lunch, in the bar. no food or drinks available during lunchtime for customers. Need to review this and change the focus onto the requirements of those paying to be on the site!

Just got home after 15 nights here. Pitches are very roomy our 7.2 m caravan and awning fitted with ease but we were at the top end of the site away from pool and bar. Toilets and showers cleaned several times a day however no toilet seats, no soap or hand dryers is disappointing. Often showers where cold which is fine when weather is hot but not on cooler days. Pool is nice my teenagers enjoyed the slides but has some landscape maintenance issues ie dangerous tiles by the jacuzzi. A good 15 min walk from a nice sandy beach with a nice man made safe bathing area which is good as low tide is a very long way! We had fab weather but not sure if there is much to do in the area had the weather been bad though my history mad friends enjoyed a trip to St Nazaire to see the U boat pens and Pornic 8miles away is beautiful. St Bernerie-en-Retz is a nice little town. No shop on site and the snack bar is not open a lot. Didnt use the bar. Sadly on 2 of the Saturday nights the chateau adjacent had weddings with loud music starting at midnight and going on to well after 4 am the French know how to party! My son also had his iPhone stolen on day 2 of the holiday and despite many trips to reception to see if it was handed in some toe rag had it!

Really lovely family friendly site- not too big so kids (aged 5,6,8 and 10) were able to have a bit of independence and cycle around site. Lovely sized pools, kids loved the slides. 5 minute walk from the town and beach- perfect for fresh croissants in the morning and the twice weekly food markets and evening markets are a must- perfect for picking up fresh mussels to cook on the camp stove! A cycle to the beautiful harbour town of Pornic takes about 45 minutes oryou can get there easily by train which takes about 5 mins. (Train station is opposite the site so we also had a lovely day trip to Nantes!) Would visit here again, a lovely traditional french town....

Great spot for cycling and walking. Friendly site that is not too large.

This review is for Les Ecureuils

Great spot for cycling and walking. Friendly site that is not too large. Can always get a sun lounger. Large warm indoor pool and lots.of outdoor space. Great for families who younger children (ours range from 6 to 10) all loved it Kids club entertained them for a couple of hours a day. We liked that We didn't have to drive to the beach nor the shops nor the bars. A traditional French town which is well maintained. Many French holidaying around us.
