The beach at West Runton is accessible from the clifftop car park. It is ideal for swimming and exploring rock pools.

Both West and East Runton are quaint, Norfolk fishing villages.

The Norfolk Shire Horse Centre has several breeds of horses and a collection of wagons and carts.

Worstead village gives its name to the woollen fabric woven by Flemish workers in the 14th century.

Roman Camp’s heaths and woodlands are managed by the National Trust.

The seaside towns of Sheringham and Cromer have many attractions. Each has a carnival week in summer.

Sheringham Park is famous for its rhododendrons and azaleas.

The remains of Britain’s oldest fossil – the West Runton Elephant – and the cast of the skull of the giant Mosasaur reptile are both to be found at Cromer Museum.

The North Norfolk Railway line is known as the Poppy Line, because of the flowers lining the track in summer.

Climb the Beacon, the highest point on the coast, for excellent views inland and to sea.

Holkham Hall is home to the Earl and Countess of Leicester, who also own the local beach and nature reserve.

Felbrigg Hall is a 17th century house with park, walled garden, dovecote and orangery.

The Muckleburgh Collection is the UK’s largest privately owned, working military museum. It includes exhibitions on Air Sea Rescue and local regiments.


Did You Know

The cliffs of West Runton were once part of the Cromer Forest Bed formation.

Worth Noting

Electric security barriers are in operation here. Many pitches are sloping and chocks will be required. Campers’ discount available at local golf course, for further details contact the site.

Eat Local

Cookies Crab Shop in Salthouse serves fresh, local fish, crab and lobster. The Constancia is a Greek restaurant which uses local meat and fish.
