Running a Certificated Site

Would you like to use your land to run a Certificated Site? Let us guide you through the process to allow you to profit from your unused land.

The Exempted Camping Department through its experienced team of Site Officers will initially assess your land for its suitability to become a Certificated Site. You will be guided through any developments if appropriate via ongoing assessment visits before a certificate is issued. Your site will then also be listed within the Club’s publication ‘Your Big Sites Book’ and the Club’s online site search facility SiteSeeker.

What are the basic requirements?

  • At least half an acre of land – fairly level and well maintained
  • Safe Access – for cars, caravans or motorhomes, when entering and leaving the site
  • Drinking Water – within 100 metres of the site, with appropriate drainage
  • Waste Disposal – a dustbin which is regularly emptied could be enough
  • Sanitation – a suitable facility for the emptying of chemically treated toilets must be provided, called a Chemical Disposal Point

Other facilities are welcomed, but these simple requirements are all you need to join our network.
